What's the bare minimum for a VTT?

Yeah, it would need to be one dedicated to doing a specific game really well (and not D&D, as every VTT already does that), or one with new innovative or game-changing features which puts it ahead of the pack on launch. The former is easier than the latter, but neither are easy propositions.

Level Up (A5E) Let's make Dangerous Strikes good on a Fighter

I'd like to try changing DS so it doesn't take an action and you can choose to spend an exertion after an attack roll to increase your crit range, turning a non-crit into a crit. So you'd use it almost like a reaction (but not costing your reaction) when you missed a crit by 1 point. Then again...

What's the bare minimum for a VTT?

Maps and tokens. Basically, the 'tabletop'. Everything else, you can easily handle yourself. You can roll your own dice, track your own initiative, use a character sheet, chat through Zoom etc. The basic thing that you can't easily do on your own is a shared battlemap and tokens. That's the...

US Tariffs: $80-$200 Surcharge On All Packages Regardless of Price

Not a trivial thing. It would probably cost more to set up and administer than you’d save.

    My FREE One-Page "Lifepath" RPG

I made this a couple of years ago. Whacked it up on a website. I've run it a few times in a pinch at conventions or when players haven't turned up for a bigger game. It's a super-simple fun little TTRPG you can pick up in a minute, and has both fantasy and sci-fi modes. Oh, and it's free, and...

US Tariffs: $80-$200 Surcharge On All Packages Regardless of Price

Oh, right. That's very different! Most online store platforms support automatic currency conversion. Shopify, the most popular one in the world, makes it pretty easy. We use it, as do something like 70% of online stores!

Most companies in this industry have their North American warehouse or fulfilment partner in the US, not Canada. We (as an example) have one in the UK, one in the US, and one in Australia.

I still don't get it. How is collecting alien specimens related to a false sense of security?

    Spoilers Alien: Earth Spoiler Thread

I understand the reference, but I don’t get the relevance to the ship in Alien: Earth. Everybody keeps saying ‘it’s a bit on the nose’ and I feel a bit dumb because I’m simply not seeing the metaphor. I don’t see how the spaceship is in any way analogous to a line of defense.

Tips and Tricks to Running a Con Game

Expect a sore throat afterwards. Conventions are noisy, and when you have to raise your voice for 4 hours, it will hurt the next day. If you're running multiple games over a few days, you may well lose your voice by the end of it. Be aware that people book slots with no intention of turning up...

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - Season 3 Viewing (Spoilers)

I've watched a bunch of interviews with the cast, and they have an Ortegas-heavy episode coming this season. Whether that's what they're doing with it, I don't know, but they have been repeatedly saying that Ortegas gets some development soon. Folks just be impatient.
