    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Jeremy Crawford on D&D Races Going Forward

I'm self censoring here but will only add that treating groups as diverse as white or Asian as monolithic instead of as individuals is totally racist.

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Jeremy Crawford on D&D Races Going Forward

It literally is. I am an Asian American. I know enough American history to know that most white Americans came to this country to flee religious or ethnic persecution or extreme poverty. Just like my ancestors only a generation before me.

    D&D 5E (2014) WotC's Jeremy Crawford on D&D Races Going Forward

That is the most disgustingly racist thing I've seen in a long time. It is reducing people to a racial category and erasing their individual identities. Truly horrible.

    D&D 5E (2014) 'daily' Powers/leveling breaking immersion?

An adventurer has got to know his limits. A simple comment such as, " This is not the time nor place to fight this battle," and knowing nods from your companions should be enough of an explanation. If you happen to travel with fools who wish to fight anyway, just say, "I wish to die...

DDAL AL Adventures That Form Mid-size Story Arcs

I played in DDAL-09 Escape from Elturgard at a convention. Since it was written as four one hour mini-adventures for level 1 or 2 characters, we could level up once between mini adventures if we started at level 1 and then once more after part four to get to level 3. It was an excellent...

Is there a way to mute threads in "Community"?

I use an rss reader called Feedly. Topics go there. I can skim the content of the original post and click on it to go to this forum and read the whole thread here. Will that work for you?

    Marketing Possibilities?

There was a Kickstarter recently for a deck of pregenerated characters with original artwork on each card. You could try finding that Kickstarter and seeing how successful it was.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5e D&D Poker

Everyone at your table would have to really like playing poker. I would be bored to tears after one hand. Waterdeep Hold 'em poker simplified for non-poker players: Roll 5d12 + 1d12 for every INT or WIS modifier (e.g. + 2d12 for INT of 16) 1d12 for applicable skill proficiency (Deception...

Online Poker shut down in U.S.

Yet the Chinese were able to end their opium problems under Mao. His methods were probably harsher than the what we did in the U.S. though. Oops: didn't realize it was a thread necro. It was in my rss news reader as new.

    D&D 5E (2014) Experiences with a PC garrote weapon?

How about this: A garrote is a two handed attack requiring an athletics skill check. If successful, the target is grappled. The target can attempt another athletics check to escape the grapple on its turn. On the attacker's next turn, it can attempt another athletics check to stun the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Is 5e Darkvision A Good Design?

I think darkvision is supposed to provide vision equivalent to dim lighting and therefore disadvantage on all perception checks. But I've never seen a DM use it that way. If they did then everyone would be carrying torches or lanterns.

D&D 5E (2014) Homebrew modification of Sharpshooter: reasonably within line?

We had a halfling battle master with sharpshooter doing 17 damage with a short bow per hit around level 8. I'd guess he hit 75% of the time. How much damage will your Kensai monk do in comparison?

D&D 5E (2014) The Monsters Know what they are doing $2.99 in ebook format!

I've been waiting since November on his new book on player tactics. It comes out in July. Live to Tell the Tale: Combat Tactics for Player Characters

    D&D 5E (2014) Rogue’s Aim+Mount

That makes a lot of sense but excludes probably 99% of Rogues. Maybe allow them to buy a warhorse that has been bred for a very smooth gait and trained for mounted archery. At least it's a good money sink for the PC.

    D&D 5E (2014) How to Fly

That's too bad. Halfling owl calvary with Lance's would have been awesome. Would it work with the pteranodon? They are medim and have flyby.

D&D General What are the "dead settings" of D&D?

I did a search for D&D and Ravnica on YouTube and found at least five different streams posted in the last month. Here are a few, plus a parody song: L'Ombra di Bolas, episodio 2 - Il tradimento [D&D ITA] Ravnica - Dogs in the Guild Pact - S01E02

D&D General VTT that supports a pen?

See the reply by StephBX in this video if you have an older tablet about using Windows 8 compatability mode. I also set mine from "pen" to "mouse" in the utility for it to work. But my Wacom is at least ten years old.

    D&D 5E (2014) Magic Intiative Feat question

As written I would say no but then there is this Sage Advice: If you have spell slots, can you use them to cast the 1st-level spell you learn with the Magic Initiate feat? Yes, but only if the class you pick for the feat is one of your classes. For example, if you pick sorcerer and you are a...

D&D General VTT that supports a pen?

I had an older Wacom Bamboo Craft circa 2011 that I brought home from work for testing. It works but my hand-eye coordination is rusty so YMMV.
