Locating a Druid using Natural Spell

They just can, it doesn't make logical sense. But those are the rules. Just like 6 second rounds, grappling horses, only falling on your turn, and numerous other warts. I am not saying that it makes complete sense, just that those are the rules. The rules do not address the 'why'. You are...

Locating a Druid using Natural Spell

By the rules if there is a squirrel or bird or whatever and it is not hiding then it is seen. If said creature attempts to cast a spell then by the rules it is recognized as spell casting.

Locating a Druid using Natural Spell

Except for where I pointed you to the section on Counterspelling. So, you make a spellcraft check when you recognize the person is casting a spell. But you automatically recognize them casting a spell. No mention of applying to humanoids only. Bluff vs. Sense Motive in this case. Seeing...

Locating a Druid using Natural Spell

By the rules, Yes and Yes. I have provided evidence of this in my earlier post. No one has provided evidence that this only applies in special circumstances, like being familiar with magic or being in humanoid form. 1st its not "magic-sensing", its the notice of ongoing spellcasting. Fake...

    Slavery and evil

Its interesting to note that the most recent Campaign Setting from WOTC condones slavery in almost every single country. Thats right in Eberron slavery is a way of life and even the good guys accept this. Many of the fantastical items in Eberron are powered by 'bound' elementals. Elementals...

Locating a Druid using Natural Spell

No, you need spellcraft to identify the spell. You don't need spellcraft to identify that a spell is being cast. Also, check the rules on counter spells. There is no skill check to identify that the enemy caster is casting a spell. There is also no mention of applying to only humanoids...

Locating a Druid using Natural Spell

According to the RAW spellcasting done by anyone or anything is automatically recognized as spellcasting. There are plenty of logic arguments against the RAW. However, I have not seen any rule that says that spellcasting is harder to recognize as spellcasting just because the caster is not a...

I think there are more siginficant changes than this. Being able to cast a spell in melee. Being able to leave a spell slot open. Metamagic. Counterspells. Bonus spells for Wizards. Switch to only 3 types of saving throws. Spellcasting attribute effects the save of a spell. Free spells in your...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 Death Knight

Hi, I have the 3.0 Death Knight template in MMII. Could someone inform me of the differences between the 3.0 version and the 3.5 version? I believe the 3.5 version can be found in the Dragonlance Setting. Thanks, *:> Scott

Augment Summoning ... how worthwhile ?

Could you post the details on Sudden Extend & Sudden Maximize? Also, you will probably get better responses in the Rules Forum. The Summon Nature's Ally list does kick, especially once you start being able to summon huge elementals.

    Was this non-Chaotic Good?

You are the DM, you set the definition of what is and what is not CG. But, whats the diff? If he changes alignment how will that change anything? It will probably have very little in game effect. So why worry about it.

So at what intelligence am I allowed to use tactics?

Yup. and for Int > 18 you can start assumming the monster knows more than the given evidence would suggest. For example, knows that the sorcerer doesn't have very many spells left, even though its the begining of combat.

Noticing that an animal is actually a wild shaped druid casting a spell

This is the Rules Forum. I am therefore answering the question from the perspective of the rules. By the rules spell casting is automatically detected, even if the spell casting is done by an animal. If you want to house rule it thats fine, but it is a house rule.

Noticing that an animal is actually a wild shaped druid casting a spell

I agree with you guys about the behavior of squirrels. However, there is no indication from a rules perspective that it is more difficult to identify an animal casting a spell than a human casting a spell. If you want to "House Rule" it in your game that would be perfectly logical. But it is...

I am sorry if you felt insulted. I did not intend to come across that way. You asked for comments in the Software Forum, I presumed that you wanted to discuss more than just the accuracy of your statblock. I have done a fair amount of work on the problems that you are describing. I do agree...
