    D&D 5E (2014) Is "Mystic" a bad class name?

Put me down for "I love it" as well. I know that "mystic" was used in old school D&D for monks, but I think this is by far the best name that they have ever attached to a psionic class and if you are going to do one psionic class rather than spreading the load through several classes as in 3E...

Unearthed Arcana Psionics Hits Unearthed Arcana

I really like it. It is a good start anyway. I don't miss the pseudoscience flavor as much as I thought I might and I will be interested to see how they develop this into a full class. I kind of wish that it was more of a short rest based class and the psi points and psi maximum for powers were...

D&D 5E (2014) What would be your ideal 5E yearly product output?

I would be happy with nothing but Story Arcs if we got about 16 pages of well produced free splat content per month. Otherwise, yeah, at some point I would like to see a big book of splat content, but no more than once per year and maybe keep it separate from organized play.

    D&D 5E (2014) Norse Mythos & Others in 5E

I would second Parmandur's recommedation. I would rather have a big book of Norseness... gods, religion, weapons, setting, new monsters, new magic, habits, culture, heroes, subclasses, classes, backgrounds, feats and everything else that might get a campaign going and then one for ancient Greek...

D&D 5E (2014) New setting idea: What if potions were permanent...

I really like the idea. Although I might be tempted to go whole hog and make it into its own game and really focus on the potion/alchemy/arcanist idea mechanically, but it would make for an interesting D&D setting as well. I look forward to see where this goes either way.

    D&D 5E (2014) Sorcerers and Versatility

I have been tempted to add a new Metamagic option. Maybe "Wizardly Spell": You can read and scribe spells, have a spellbook that can contain any spells that you find or transcribe from another spellbook from the Wizard's spell list. You can memorize that spell for the day if it is a level that...

Mike Mearls on D&D Psionics: Should Psionic Flavor Be Altered?

I think this is a tough nut to crack. As far as I can remember back, most of the fan base has never really taken to psionics and there is no real definitive version of what the flavor is or how to mechanically represent it. Any system they come up with is probably going to be unacceptable to 75%...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Variant Rules

I thought the article was a nice 5e take on some rules that appeared in the 3E UA book, I just think the 80% or so of the audience that is looking for player content is going to find DM end stuff unsatisfactory. They might consider that in future when writing these posts. I am sure that there...

    D&D 5E (2014) Multiclass and extra attacks

Dead levels don't bother me, but maybe give the player an additional fighting style at 5th level. I am not sure that 2hp is really worth the bother.

    D&D 5E (2014) Another Generalist homebrew

I saw your reasoning in using Int there and I kind of wish they had run more of the subclass and subclass features with an ability score focus in the published game beyond what they did with the Cleric domains. I think that exhaustion on uses beyond the first there is a nice middle ground...

    D&D 5E (2014) Another Generalist homebrew

I actually love the scholarly wizard flavor you gave it given that it is a generalist wizard. I kind of wish they had this archetype represented in the PHB and used that as the default for the basic rules. That said, on a quick eyeball, it does seem more potent than any of the Traditions in...

    April's D&D Feedback Survey Results

I kind of wish that they had simply limited classes to 10 levels, but apparently people like seeing 20 levels of classes in the game even if most people never get around to playing half or 2/3rds of them.

    D&D 5E (2014) Non-Scaling Class Specialties: Why Choose Them?

In addition to what others had said, the +1 AC scales as well, just due to the nature of the game. At low levels, it is unlikely that someone from a fighting style is going to get surrounded by six opponents all getting an attack. At higher levels, each round the fighter is more likely to get...

D&D 5E (2014) Feats: Do you use them? Are they necessary?

I would agree that they overestimated it if players consistently pick those feats over Ability Score Increases and other Feats to be effective. If it is working as intended, it probably should have been a class ability or just part of the combat system (maybe as part of a "called shot" or...

D&D 5E (2014) Is Savage Attacker worth it?

My problem with Savage Attacker is more that the flavor doesn't match the mechanic at least in my conception I would think a feat like that should do. If anything the -5atk/+10dmg mechanic from Great Weapon Master and Sharpshooter probably more mentally lines up with what I would expect it to do...

    D&D 5E (2014) Darksun Weapons doubts

Given that a good quarter of the threads on the page at the moment seem to be using "doubts" where people used to say "questions" I am guessing this is a thing now, especially since no one says "questions." Language changes, but I suddenly feel impossibly old.

D&D 5E (2014) Feats: Do you use them? Are they necessary?

I actually wish more of the customization aspects had been dumped into feats instead of subclasses and class features, but you should be fine running with or without. I voted "yes and necessary for most players" because I think most players enjoy that having another layer of customization to...

Unearthed Arcana Waterborne Adventures: New from Unearthed Arcana

Yeah, I caught that after the fact. I was used to the two bonus spells at every level that it threw me off. Still, it did give me an idea how to balance high level bonus spells by putting those kind of restrictions on usage.

Unearthed Arcana Waterborne Adventures: New from Unearthed Arcana

I am definitely eyeing adding bonus spells to the dragon sorcerer. For the Wild Mage, I am considering some kind of "roll for your bonus spells" on a periodic basis. I need to look at previous iterations of the concept to see if there are any ideas for implementation.

Unearthed Arcana Waterborne Adventures: New from Unearthed Arcana

It is nice to see a subclass with a 9th level bonus spell. I am tempted to revisit the Cleric domains and maybe add more limited versions of high level spells in the 6 - 9th level spell levels. The whole document is far more crunchy than I thought might be offered by the title. Good stuff and...
