WotC Greg Tito On Leaving WotC: 'It feels good to do something that doesn't just line the pockets of *****'

I didn't say unhirable! But it does make the climb a bit steeper. Whether accurate or not, it conveys a lack of confidence and ability to stand up for oneself (in the 'good' way... not the hyper-aggressive, heart on your sleeve way!).

WotC Greg Tito On Leaving WotC: 'It feels good to do something that doesn't just line the pockets of *****'

In find that a bit of a non sequitur honestly. It's not an attitude... it's the way human beings work. If someone doesn't play well with others, they make the people around them miserable and make their lives more difficult. If someone doesn't have the ability or desire to improve their social...

WotC Greg Tito On Leaving WotC: 'It feels good to do something that doesn't just line the pockets of *****'

I posted a response to a similar sentiment upthread. It's nothing to do with 'saying mean things'. It's a human nature/social dynamics thing. A manager who's hiring someone to work with them is going to want a person who has the best possible job skills (obviously...). The other important...

WotC Greg Tito On Leaving WotC: 'It feels good to do something that doesn't just line the pockets of *****'

If there is actually a problem with your former employer, social media is one way you can get your point out there. It's free! Lots of people might see it! The problem with that, as I said earlier, is that if you include zero facts to back your statement, you look like a clown to future...

WotC Greg Tito On Leaving WotC: 'It feels good to do something that doesn't just line the pockets of *****'

No one is saying that those public statements are an issue because someone at Hasbro's feelings might be hurt. The problem with those public statements is that a future employer will wonder if that person has trouble interacting with others. The workplace is a social unit, with many...

D&D General D&D 2024 does not deserve to succeed

'Beyond what it has a right to?'... what does that even mean? If you don't like the direction the game is taking, that's cool. But that statement... wow.

D&D General D&D 2024 does not deserve to succeed

The level of entertainment I would get from @Zuranthium replying to this thread would be off the charts.

CRPG - If you enjoyed Planescape, Disco Elysium, Tides of Numenera...

This is an interesting game. I'm about a half hour in, but I'm picking up what it's laying down.

    D&D 5E (2024) Warlock -- initial analyses

Hmm. You're right! Can you tell that I just buy the books and read them and don't actually play? I used to DM 1E, then 2E for a short while... from the early 80s and into the early 90s. I still buy the books when a new edition comes out, even though I have moved on to other hobbies.

    D&D 5E (2024) Warlock -- initial analyses

I don't like those situations either, for the reasons I stated earlier. As you say, it works fantastically... if your mind palace aligns with that fit of straitjacket. What's the harm in allowing more interpretations of the flavour of the class? Then everyone is happy instead of only some people...

    D&D 5E (2024) Warlock -- initial analyses

That feels like a hollow justification. It makes sense from a certain perspective, I see what you're saying... but it forces a specific flavouring of the class on a player. To me, yuck.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

I understand and appreciate that. I'm saying that individuals interpret the physics, social dynamics, etc. of our world in their own way. Sometimes they have special knowledge in a certain area, which makes them expert in that specific field. Sometimes. though, their own world view makes them...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

That pretty much sums up my argument against super-verisimilitude fans. The man on the street's view of verisimilitude doesn't typically match up with reality. It matches up with that person's view of reality. In an RPG, when their head canon bangs up against someone else's head canon (or even...

D&D 5E (2024) Greatweapon fighting style? Is this another joke? Did everyone at WotC failed elementary school math classes?

I don't think deciding which spell to cast is more complex than choosing a battlemaster maneouvre.

D&D 5E (2024) Greatweapon fighting style? Is this another joke? Did everyone at WotC failed elementary school math classes?

Look, I enjoy the math analysis. You've historically had some interesting thoughts. But you could really do it without the insults. "Now, we all know that GWF style was THE weakest in 2014, but not they made it even worse. That really takes effort." Unnecessary. What you mean is you disagree...
