Over 1,500 Publishers Support Paizo's Upcoming Open RPG Creator's License

There's now a statement from several German publishers (in German): https://midgard-online.de/verlag/neuigkeiten-archiv/details/238.html Heinrich Tüffers Verlag, Mannifest Games, Redaktion Phantastik, System Matters Verlag, Uhrwerk Verlag, Ulisses Spiele and Verlag für Fantasy- & Science...

Over 1,500 Publishers Support Paizo's Upcoming Open RPG Creator's License

Ulisses Spiele wants to make the license viable for the German and EU law. They are also going to release SRDs for all game systems they have the rights to (Torg, Fading Suns, Hexen and all editions of the Dark Eye). Hopefully Pegasus and Uhrwerk will join this effort. Maybe other publishers...

D&D 5E (2024) RPG Evolution: The Art of the Apology

I have yet to see an apology from Wizards, so I can't rate it.

    Goodman Games goes ORC!

OAR 7 was announced in April 2023: Announcing OAR #7: The Dark Tower|Goodman Games

    Goodman Games goes ORC!

OAR 7 and 8 are based on Judge's Guild. The deal probably ended a while ago. On the bright side, they can release those as PDFs.

    Goodman Games goes ORC!

I guess that confirms that there will be no more OARs based on TSR modules.

    Can WotC be forgiven?

In the case of the OGL 1.0, it's more like a tiny, glowing, red laser dot on its forehead.
  8. Jadeite

OGL 1.1/2.0 may doom ONE in the same way GSL doomed 4E

That's why we have reason to believe that they want to kill of the SRD based games.

How would OGL NFTs even work?

I guess I found a way for OGL NFTs to work after all but it's for an older edition: Mint Non Fungible Token (Item Creation) You can create blockchain positions. Prerequisite: Influencer level...

How would OGL NFTs even work?

In what way would that need/use the OGL?

How would OGL NFTs even work?

WotC has named the prevention of OGL based NFTs as a reason for their changes, but how would that even work? NFTs linked to certain rules? Character stats? Monsters in the SRD? If you can mint NFTs based on OGC, anyone else can as well. People could try to create some Play-to-earn NFT-treadmill...

WotC might still want to stop Third Party VTTs in their new draft

Can't have competition for all those micro transactions. Those 146m were quite the investment.

WotC might still want to stop Third Party VTTs in their new draft

This had been mentioned by Youtubers in yesterday's streams (the RulesLawyer if I recall correctly) and it should be emphasized. This paragraph doesn't necessarily say that VTT would be allowed under their new OGL. It only lists using a VTT (preferably their own) as a viable fan activity...

    WoTC/OGL - Is a Downfall meme allowed?

I liked the one about Hitler's D&D character dying.
  15. Jadeite

How long do we wait for WoTC to speak?

Going from OGL 1.1 to OGL 2.0 might be an attempt to prevent people who search for news of the new license (once they officially announce it) from seeing all the negativity 1.1 has gotten. It will probably not work, but I guess it's worth a try for them.

OGL: What Are The Publishers Saying [UPDATED]

They actually released their first 4e adventures without a license if I recall correctly.

    Congratulations WotC...

They did tell people about it in Dragon 283 (May 2001), p26.

D&D 5E (2014) Keys from the Golden Vault

Why not just wait for WotC to make an official statement concerning the release and its contents? At this point, anything else is mere speculation.
