Ulisses Spiele wants to make the license viable for the German and EU law. They are also going to release SRDs for all game systems they have the rights to (Torg, Fading Suns, Hexen and all editions of the Dark Eye). Hopefully Pegasus and Uhrwerk will join this effort. Maybe other publishers...

I have yet to see an apology from Wizards, so I can't rate it.

OAR 7 and 8 are based on Judge's Guild. The deal probably ended a while ago. On the bright side, they can release those as PDFs.

WotC has named the prevention of OGL based NFTs as a reason for their changes, but how would that even work? NFTs linked to certain rules? Character stats? Monsters in the SRD? If you can mint NFTs based on OGC, anyone else can as well. People could try to create some Play-to-earn NFT-treadmill...

Going from OGL 1.1 to OGL 2.0 might be an attempt to prevent people who search for news of the new license (once they officially announce it) from seeing all the negativity 1.1 has gotten. It will probably not work, but I guess it's worth a try for them.

They actually released their first 4e adventures without a license if I recall correctly.

They did tell people about it in Dragon 283 (May 2001), p26.

Why not just wait for WotC to make an official statement concerning the release and its contents? At this point, anything else is mere speculation.
