    Spoilers Interstellar

Yes, but they tend to speak of it in a general sense - "This movie has the best science ever!" Sure, except for the climate science, the fact that they flew FROM SPACE onto a water-world but didn't know that a tidal wave was coming in a few minutes, the magic use of the black hole, etc, etc...

    Spoilers Interstellar

I've always hated this movie. It's not that it was actually bad, really, it's just that I find the bragging about how supposedly good the "science" is in it to be... overblown. For example, I don't believe for a second that a person can go into a black hole and survive. It's ridiculous magic...

Heroes of the Borderlands Starter Set Price Point Revealed

My little comic and game store had sold close to 200 copies during the time that it was in print. Going back, I can see that every other starter for a D&D, or D&D-like game sold in their lifetimes never more than 20 copies, but more often in the teens or even single digits. Seriously. It sold...

    (IC) Dog Days of Doom!

Stratus had hoped that Caer would take care of the child, as he was uncomfortable with children - they were so very small. But he sighed, realizing that he should have known better, as Caer had no softness whatsoever. Stratus could tell that all his talk of 'monsters' was only going to scare the...

D&D 5E (2024) So what's going on with the October book?

Nah. That was just a spin to explain the MM coming out later than intended.

(5.24 PBP) Vault of the Dracolich (IC) Redux

Team Lake (Aywin) Aywin threw a stone through the archway into the Strange Object on the banks of the underground lake. The stone clattered on the worked slabs of its floor, and did nothing, though Aywin was certain that he'd seen a pattern emerge in the series of the runes that were carved on...

(5.24 PBP) Vault of the Dracolich (IC) Redux

Team Caves (Torhak) Torhak had hugged the walls, staying in the shadows. The big chambers that held the kobold village were dimly lit by a glowing moss, that hung in patches from the ceiling, which was some twenty to thirty feet overhead (though some patches of moss hung low enough that you...

(5.24 PBP) Vault Redux (OOC) Fitz's Refresher

Oops! His Icon simply didn't paste when I c&p'd them from my Ambush map, and somehow I didn't notice! He's with Urgan and Merrick, of course.

D&D 5E (2024) How do you rule using a Hand Crossbow with a nick weapon

Sounds a bit silly, but I'm not sure that its wrong.

(5.24 PBP) Vault of the Dracolich (IC) Redux

Team Infiltrate (Copper) The cultist was busy hitching the wagon up to the chain contraption that would keep it steady while going down the stairs, but he stopped to give Copper a startled look. He stammered, "Uh... no one here talks about that sort of stuff. All you need to know is this - know...

(5.24 PBP) Vault of the Dracolich (IC) Redux

Team Caves Kobolds scattered, screaming in high pitched squeaks as Merrick called out in a voice that boomed like a dragon's. The kobold guards bashed the hilts of their swords on their shields, in some kind of salute, and the original, brave kobold who had been guiding them waved its arms in...

D&D 5E (2024) So what's going on with the October book?

It could be a Multiversal "Everything"-book, with chapters for different worlds with different themes - it's true that the UAs have been themed, but they could still be that way for a book (or books).

Could an American write Doctor Who? - Babylon 5 creator throws hat in the ring

Now!? C'mon - you know that I did nothing that will change anything.

Heroes of the Borderlands Starter Set Price Point Revealed

They simply weren't as good, and were MUCH lighter on content. LMoP took 40-50 hours to play. Dragons of Stormwreck is probably a couple of sessions. Essentials is longer, but not even close to LMoP. And neither are quite as "good". I'm not disparaging them, either! They're both pretty decent -...

D&D 5E (2024) So what's going on with the October book?

Yeah, it looks unlikely at this point. We'd have to be ordering it in the next month or so, and they usually give us the deets before they make us order it. That they haven't even spoken of it, makes it seem like a certainty that it's been pushed back. It seems likely that it's the Magic...

Heroes of the Borderlands Starter Set Price Point Revealed

It does, but... as the subsequent starters have shown, WotC has struggled to repeat that successfully. This is something new. if those learning tools work, I think it will be worth it.

As usual, Snarf, you are fully correct here. On every single point.

Heroes of the Borderlands Starter Set Price Point Revealed

I've learned that there are plenty of people who have no ability to visualize "cinematic" scenes in their heads. I likely once scoffed at them (not to their faces, that would be rude, but internally) for that inability, because I'm so good at it, myself. Now I understand that it's not their...

Heroes of the Borderlands Starter Set Price Point Revealed

It was also fully expected that you already owned a plethora of miniatures, because the game was designed for extant wargamers to play, not for non-wargamers to pick up. That came later, and the game had to change to support it.
