Spelljammer Spelljammer Nov 10 2022 errata.

Still baffles me how the Hadooze flight got through the UA just to be errata'd immediately after release.

    D&D 5E (2014) Make SPELLS Balanced

In the first D&D campaign I played, we had access to several homebrew books with a ton of spells, several thousand of them. A lot were very weak, a lot were stupid op, and quite a few were just . . . highly concerning. There's definitely a market for them, prob since spells are the real system...

RPG Evolution: The Trouble with Halflings

I'm thinking it spins sideways like a Beyblade, that'd destroy anything in its path.

    D&D 5E (2014) Narratively Nonmagical Paladin

Most of their abilities should be fine, there are some very magical stuff like that capstone that can make you fly, but it's easy to avoid. For lower level stuff most likely to come up, the Find Steed spell is extremely useful, but can be hard to justify depending on where the party is.

    D&D 5E (2024) Return to the 3 saves for 1D&D?

Honestly, I really dislike the current save system, six are too many, and if you have a low save you're pretty much useless if the enemy is targetting it. I play a Wizard in a westmarch server, and had whole quests where he just spammed Tasha's Mind Whip nonstop since so many enemies have...

    D&D 5E (2024) Return to the 3 saves for 1D&D?

Hideous Laughter is a wisdom save, Tasha's Mind Whip would be the Intelligence one.

RPG Evolution: The Trouble with Halflings

In 5e, the PC versions of Kobold and Goblin have respectively: So, it's reasonable for them to know how to read and write in general. The standard Kobold and Goblin statblocks also list those languages, although the Monster Manual only mentions knowing how to speak them.

D&D General D&D, magic, and the mundane medieval

In the attunement section of the DMG, it mentions that items that require you to be a spellcaster work as long as you can cast any spells at all, not just with having the spellcasting trait: So spellcaster can reasonably be just anyone who can cast a spell with a feat or racial trait.

D&D 5E (2014) When Are Ability Scores Used?

Heavy armors have strength score requirements to not be slowed down. Edit: So close.

    Dragonlance Dragonlance "Reimagined".

I don't particularly care about that part, just saw people mentioning here it was the Valar, while I'm pretty sure it was Eru. It's a bit different from the Dragonlance example since there it seems like the good gods had to still take into account what the evil and neutral gods wanted, while in...

    Dragonlance Dragonlance "Reimagined".

I think it was Eru that destroyed Numenor, not the Valar themselves. It's the guy who considers death a great gift to humanity, and the Numenorians were trying to get to the Undying Lands so they would not be fated to die, he probably took it as a personal attack. I've definitely seen people...

D&D 5E (2014) The Decrease in Desire for Magic in D&D

Polymorph is 4th level, even. Great value for the slot.

D&D 5E (2014) Merlin and Arthur or Batman and zatana

Six inches is definitely very thin for a castle wall, if you go for 10 feet that's 120 inches, or 3600 hp, gonna take a while.

D&D 5E (2014) Merlin and Arthur or Batman and zatana

For 5e, since the bonuses don't get too crazy, it'd prob be hard to make a proper system of doing superhuman stuff via skill checks. A DC 20 is easy at level 20, but it's achievable at level 1 as well, and if you make it unreachable at level 1, then it'd be quite hard at level 20 as well if...

D&D 5E (2024) One D&D Expert Classes Playtest Document Is Live

I think instead of extra attack Rangers should get the Eldritch Blast cantrip with a bow and arrows as a material component, would make things simpler.

D&D 5E (2014) Merlin and Arthur or Batman and zatana

Ironically, the Joker has defeated and mind controlled Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash and Aquaman in one go off-screen. He's busted sometimes. Poison Ivy has also mind controlled Superman, and I think Riddler once beat the Injustice League by himself. Comics are wacky.

D&D 5E (2014) Merlin and Arthur or Batman and zatana

Batman did fight Darkseid one time with a super suit the Justice League helped him build, and he had an anti-Justice League suit he used successfully against a good chunk of the League when they were mind controlled by the Joker. I guess writers don't wanna turn him into Iron Man witht he suits...

D&D 5E (2014) Merlin and Arthur or Batman and zatana

The issue of Batman and Superman as an example for games is that the former can only compete because the latter lets him and is too much of a good guy to win in any of the hundreds of ways he could. In a game with a murderhobo player controlling Superman, it'd go like this:

    D&D 5E (2024) Ranger playtest discussion

I like the Favored Terrain giving bonuses idea. You could have a Ranger that gets Expertise in Survival by default, then each terrain gives one more, along with a bonus to the Ranger themselves, and something else to help lead the party, maybe it can give more things at higher levels as well...
