When Ceodric arrives, can he have a flash of foreknowledge please about the five people below? Also, can Ceodric receive some News From Afar if appropriate? Thank you

D&D 5E (2014) Adventures in Middle Earth: Over the Edge of the Wild (RP Thread)

At which point Hilda appeared ahead of the others, right on cue. A huge grey wolfhound - nearly the size of a pony - dashes up behind Halvar and comes to halt. Looking down at the scene and sensing tension, she bares her teeth. "ROUF!" And the sound of running feet and jingling mail follows...

D&D 5E (2014) Adventures in Middle Earth: Over the Edge of the Wild (RP Thread)

Hilda, who had been enjoying various amounts of attention form the group assembled, sits bolt upright, ears high, at the sound. "Go, girl", says Ceodric, seeing Halvar sprint off. Hilda tears off after the Lakeman, easily keeping up with him with her long stride. Ceodric himself shoulders his...

D&D 5E (2014) Adventures in Middle Earth: Over the Edge of the Wild (RP Thread)

"Rouf!" "Shoosh, Hilda" Ceodric turns to face the newcomer. "Well met! The Dreamer, of Rhosgobel", and he inclines his head. Looking up again: "Hilda you have heard from already."

Having nodded politely in acknowledgement of Bromm's name-giving, Ceodric then addresses the hobbit, walking a step or two closer. "The Dreamer, of Rhosgobel, at your service, Mistress Greenmeadows. And this" with a low flat whistle, causing the hound to pad to his side, "is Hilda. Hilda, say...

D&D 5E (2014) Making new warlock. Need advice on Magic Initiate Feat

MI spell doesn't scale so you want something that's as good as level 1 as it will ever be. Personally, I love Unseen Servant, especially for a warlock. very flavoursome and useful. For cantrips, for a human, Light is a must and Prestidigitation is just cool.
  8. The Grassy Gnoll

Killing the sacred cow: playing D&D with only 4 abilities instead of 6. And returning to 3 saves instead of 6.

Sounds like a lean towards a skill based system like Runequest/Call of Cthulhu. Problem em is a lot of unpicking of especially spells, rewriting the MM...big job.

D&D 5E (2014) Adventures in Middle Earth: Over the Edge of the Wild (RP Thread)

Ceodric scrambled to his feet, joined in this endeavour by Hilda. The Woodman gestured with palm down to his hound, softly telling her in the Vale of Anduin tongue to sit. With a yawn and the exposure of much pink tongue, she sat on her haunches, switching her attention from the wheeling gulls...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Treasure Map - IC

"I'm not sure but...", he squints and truns the map fragment round and holds it up to the light. "...I think these marks here, and the way this letter e is formed...this looks like Nolz's work". He lowers the fragment and hands it back, looking puzzled and annoyed. "Nolz was the navigator for...

D&D 5E (2014) (OOC) Adventures in Middle Earth: Over the Edge of the Wild

Here's another question for you, boss: Foreknowledge... Does The Dreamer have an awareness/anticipation of meeting the party? I get the feeling his dream has hinted at heading to Lake-town and quite possibly the others' faces may have appeared? Like, it's fate, type idea. Just wondering for...

D&D 5E (2014) Adventures in Middle Earth: Over the Edge of the Wild (RP Thread)

Ceodric smiled at the young man from Esgaroth. "A local?" He grizzled his hound's head again and it looked up and woofed softly, reproachfully. "This fine lady is Hilda. Whether she or I is the master of the other is a matter of some debate". He smiled again. "I am The Dreamer, of...

D&D 5E (2014) Adventures in Middle Earth: Over the Edge of the Wild (RP Thread)

Ceodric is waiting by the ferry landing. A nondescript young Woodman of slim build with dark shoulder length hair, he has a somewhat unimpressive beard and circles under his eyes as though he wants for sleep, but his eyes themselves seem bright enough. He sits cross-legged, comfortably nestled...

D&D 5E (2014) (OOC) Adventures in Middle Earth: Over the Edge of the Wild

Glad you're ok! Thank you - totally fair enough. Most importantly, happy to see you haven't been swept away. Hope you aren't/won't be too badly affected.

D&D 5E (2014) (OOC) Adventures in Middle Earth: Over the Edge of the Wild

Hope you're safe mate. Just a question for you when you can - or for anyone really - the Scholar states you get proficiency with a herbalism kit and either artisan tools or a pipe but never actually states that you receive any of these as part of your starting equipment... So I have amended my...

    D&D 5E (2014) The Treasure Map - IC

Shiver throws his hands in the air. "Perhaps we'd all get along better if we saw the map portion we have got again properly. If we can see where our part shows a bit of, perhaps we can narrow our search down a bit - these places are usually organised by name aren't they?" Turning to Strange...

D&D 5E (2014) (OOC) Adventures in Middle Earth: Over the Edge of the Wild

RyraK if you get the same skill (survival) from wanderer and lure of the road you should be able to swap one of them for a different skill, is that right, ArtoriusaurusRex?

D&D 5E (2014) (OOC) Adventures in Middle Earth: Over the Edge of the Wild

GreenKarl I'd say go with the character you want to play. We have a Warden bowman and the Dunedan seems quite high CHA. Between them they're quite Face-y, and I've got a healer/translator (vaguely). A bit of extra muscle isn't necessarily a bad thing. lets face it I've heard of a party of 13...
