    D&D 5E (2024) Limiting Short Rests to 2x/day

Unlimited 10-15 minute short rests, but tie even magical healing to hit dice so the coffeelock can't just take a level in bandaid.

What is the best chain fast food restaurant?

Catering? The Filet O'Fish is cheaper than the standard Quarter Pounder with Cheese. The Double Filet O'Fish they serve during Lent is more expensive than the Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese.

What is the best chain fast food restaurant?

Seriously? I love the Filet O'Fish. Make mine doubles.

What is the best chain fast food restaurant?

Jollibee. Ain't one within a day trip radius of where I live... but damned if I don't find any excuse to vacation in places that have them.

    Unpopular opinions go here

Really? Because I keep hearing people say this, but I've had German sausage and, in my personal opinion, it's the wurst. I always do, because it's a small sidebar to everyone sitting down at the table and rolling their characters together. A lot of people would be surprised at how many...

    (OOC) Planescape: Intrigue

I feel like I work pretty well as an ambush predator, but somewhat less so as an ambushed predator. If I can get in close, I could pretty reasonably command the attention of one side of the ambush or the other. Might not go so well for me, but K would consider it her best option for getting...

    Grade the Fate/Fate Core System

I am generally not well disposed to metanarrative and/or author stance games (like Fate Core or Cortex Prime) but one thing I really admire about them is their ability to make ephemeral qualities of PCs and NPCs-- like their motivations and beliefs-- mechanically relevant in game. It's not as...

    (OOC) Planescape: Intrigue

This works for me. I just got my main office computer back, so that side of the equation is taken care of, at least.

    (OOC) Planescape: Intrigue

I'm having serious problems with both my hardware and my wetware. I'm not going to be able to play any more actively than I have been already... for which I apologize. I was really looking forward to this game, and I wish I were more capable of keeping up with it. Again, I'm sorry.

    (IC) PLANESCAPE: Intrigue

Kachilk'cha wavered for seconds-- an eternity to her insectile reflexes-- before scooping up a sample and stoppering the vial. She wrapped the vial in bandages before stuffing it into a larger specimen jar, and then wrapped that jar in bandages. She'd consumed the contents of an entire healer's...

What Game Systems Do You Have?

D&D: Rules Cyclopedia, AD&D 2e/Player's Option, 4e, 5e, Rokugan Other TSR: Boot Hill, Gamma World 4e and Alternity, Star Frontiers, Alternity Science Fiction Role-Playing, Bullywinkle and Rocky Roleplaying Party Game, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (all the books, none of the boxes) OSR: ACKS...

What is the Best Licensed RPG?

There are a lot of obvious picks here that... by all rights should be remembered here: Star Wars, MERP, TMNT, pretty much any MWP Cortex game. I'm going to throw out Street Fighter: the Storytelling Game.

    (IC) PLANESCAPE: Intrigue

Kachilk'cha takes surprisingly reasonable precautions before examining the plague victims-- she hangs a waxed cloth over her mandibles, unfortunately making her look like some petty warlord's executioner, and pours half a flask of dwarven spirits over the cloth and the other half down her...

How Old Were You When You Played Your First TTRPG?

I was twelve in 1993. I'd been trying to get into D&D for years, after finding my babysitter's Basic and Expert boxes, but my mother didn't think D&D was a good idea until she started dating a man who played. He was quite possibly the single stupidest human being I have ever met, and his...

D&D 5E (2024) Are you going to buy the new 2024 D&D Core Books

I am apparently behind on the news on several fronts. I'll stop speculating until I've caught up.

    (IC) PLANESCAPE: Intrigue

Kachilk'cha has worked plagues before. So much experience, so many opportunities. She begins examining the plague doctor's patients eagerly-- but not so eagerly as to forget her prophylactic training. OOC: Medicine?

D&D 5E (2024) Are you going to buy the new 2024 D&D Core Books

If I'm wrong about that prediction, I'm much more likely to be wrong about the other one. If they release it under Creative Commons (or the ORC), that's... pretty much a guaranteed buy from me. If they release it under the OGL... I'd have to think about it, long and hard, but that'd go a long...

D&D 5E (2024) Are you going to buy the new 2024 D&D Core Books

I'm not sure. I am definitely picking up TOTV, and Level Up (again) if it's rereleased under a different license. Considering the new D&D core will probably be 0% open content, it might be better if I don't buy them or read them, you know?

    Sex at the Table

Broadly speaking, I encourage my players to make characters who have romantic interests and pursue them, but-- again-- only the mildest of flirtations actually occur "on screen" because we are all uncomfortable roleplaying that kind of interaction with any kind of specificity or intensity.

    Sex at the Table

Certainly, romance is an important part of our games and "romance" is... a character detail. But I game with my family. We don't go any further than "fade to black" because that's just not how any of us want to interact with each other.
