D&D 3.x [3.5] Help my bard contribute [Thanks guys!]

From the DMG page 284: So mithral scale would be treated as light for bardic abilities and have the following qualities: AC+4, Max Dex = 6, Skill Check penalty = -1. That is really good. Cost: 4050gp.

D&D 3.x [3.5] Help my bard contribute [Thanks guys!]

Which books are you using? R&R has some very powerful Bard only spells. Also there is a feat some where (not at home to look where) called lingering song. About those fighter levels. They are going to hurt your bard as much as or more so then they would a wizard or cleric. I would really...

    Rusty DM would appreciate input

Since other have given very good advice on the story line, I am going to comment on your party mix. For a group of 7 to have only one arcane and one divine caster means they will have a tough choice on character types. Unless you mean only one cleric and one wizard/sorcerer with this statement...

How much use did you get from D&D 3.0e?

Since my group has 3 DM that use different rates of advancement I prefere to measure the usage in hours of game time. Allowing for breaks and special gaming weekends. (Start Friday night an game most of the weekend) we averaged 8 hours a week. 52 weeks a year for 3 years. For a total of 156...

    3.5 Ranger

There was a thread that posted all of the know changes. It was linked to the news page sometime last week. Check there. It included alot of information. Almost all of the changes were posted. More then enough to start with I think. Just notice the orginal thread is still up here

What's your fundamental baseline inspiration for creating your settings?

I must admit, I am a very big exception to the rule. Of all of the books listed in above the only one I have read is LoTRs. Of the historical eras, I was not interested in any of them before I began to roleplay. My base line for my games comes from use frontier stories. Starting with...

Do you allow feats/PrCs from Dragon or non WotC products

This is our group attitude, but we have recently decided on a list of book that we are not going beyond. This was more of a cash flow and orgainzational problem then not wanting other stuff in our campains.

Walmart 3.5 New Release Date: 7-30-03

Yea, but you could have to go my route $18 each for all three, with a month buy the PHB at full $30, then with another month and buy all three at the full price. Then hope you don't have to buy a third copy of the DMG or Monster Manual.

Why I Love Being the DM

I love to see just how my players can mess with my plans. :D My party: A human male Paldin - God of Justice and Warfare A human female Bard - chaotic good w/a NG Fighter (8th lvl) A halfling female Cleric - God of healing, motherhood, protection, ect. A dwarf male Fighter/Mage All the PC's...

Does your group use a DM Screen?

No, I don't use one. They get in the way and my can't read my notes if they wanted to. (I use short fragments and notations as memory aids and keep most of it in my head). As for secret rolls, I am always playing with my d20 just to keep them on edge. :D

So what price are you paying for your 3.5E books?

Our first set of three is costing 62 + change including shipping. My second copy of the PHB and a Gift set will be at SRP from my FLGS. One draw back of having a gaming family: you need a copy of the PHB for each family member to prevent fighting.

The Infamous Magic Item Caster Level!!!

Looking at the sample pages from here: Gamingreport.com It seems that CL is now part of the prerequisites. Here it states "If an item has both enhancement bonus and a special ability, the higher of the two caster levels must be met. So Andy is most likely wrong. He stated some where in...

    3.5 Little Changes, big effects

Only if I could state my case as clearly as that  I am also wanting to know if any body has notice similar small changes with effects larger then a first look would indicate.

    3.5 Little Changes, big effects

As way characters act you are correct, but this type of change will effect how alot of character are build and the mechanical odds of their survival. This particular change will give low level wiz and sor just one more choice that they have to make. While I agree that it is not a huge change...

    3.5 Little Changes, big effects

Has any one else noticed very many little changes that are going to make a big difference in how characters act. Take the change to familiars for example. They no longer give their master the Altertness Feat. Now they are assumed to take 10 on spot and Listen, therefor granting their masters...

[3.5] WotC theory on multi-class spellcasters

Re: Re: Re: Mystic Theurge Since this is not the first such PrC that advances in more then one class at a time your concerns are a little late.

The optimal number of participants (player AND DM)!

Yes, but not only requires more work, it limits the posiblities. I don't like running with only 3 player even if that is what I have at the moment. The fewer people the less dynamic the interaction, the more limited the options for both the characters/players and the DM. On the other hand more...
