I've done this quite often in the past, usually when gaming groups were quite small.

There might not be any baby-shields, but I heard there were plenty of villains who were also nursing mothers. . . Of course, even though they are evil villains, they're still good mothers and keep their kids on regular feeding schedules regardless of what the heroes are doing.

This looks like a rather more powerful version of the Mystic PrC that appeared in Dragon Magazine. I would drop the bonus feats and have the spell secrets gained at opposite levels to the increase in caster levels.
