    Reviewing the Artificer

I agree that the healing powers they have are much more interesting and thematic than their class feature. Absolutely, and it is, the current set up does seem to be Warlords give extra actions, Clerics give healing, Artificers give buffs. However it should be remembered that eventually your...

    Reviewing the Artificer

Why do people keep asking this? Bow and crossbow Artificers were one of the three major artificer "builds" or options that Artificers supported in 3.x. The Artificer who uses an action point to infuse their crossbow with "bane weapon whatever the hell I'm fighting" was one of the quintessential...

    Dragon 365 - Artificer

Their damage seems really low, and they mostly seem to give out bonuses/penalties not give/restrict actions, it might be just me, but I can't see them being anywhere near overpowered in a small group. They may well shine in large well organized groups, but I really can't see them dominating. It...

Artificer Up (Playtest Version, not Final)

I very much like how Aggrivating Force doesn't require you to define which ally gets the bonus, that was one of the more fiddly parts of Lance of Faith to me. I also like how they've started putting the effect before the hit/miss. More of a "the designers are still learning" than anything...

    Dragon 365 Table of Contents

Actually, she's an Eladrin. With what appears to be a Dragonmark next to where navel should be. Intriguing.

    Applying class templates to monsters

MY reading of the the second sentance is not "add a level of class to it" but raise it's level normally (give it a bonus to attack/Damage/defenses/hp as usual) then apply the template, as usual. I assume because applying the template and then leveling it up would be annoying because you'd have...

    Eladrin Cities...

Or throw people in a 40 ft deep oublette or use French style island prisons or just stab out their eyes. More generally, I can't see normal Eladrin not having stairs, or not having doors, or other sillyness. I can't see themsetting up their homes so that if they forget their lunch on their way...

    Grading At-Will Powers

An average Ranger has dex 18. At first level, basic does 1d10+4(9.5) and Twin Strike does 2d10(11), at 8th, when you get 20 dex, you will generally have weapon focus and a +2 weapon, making basic 1d10+8(13.5) and Twin Strike does 2d10+6(17), at 14th when you get 22 dex, you should have weapon...

    Multiclass feat question

Have you tried making the character a Strength based Cleric who takes Kensai?

How to rule out convincing people of something?

From the rules. "Bluff can make hte outrageous seem plausible" "Make a diplomacy to change opinions" Both are appropriate.

Oh noes .. more Daggermaster cheese? (Warlock)

Yes, but Deadly Axe (which I was fairly obviously refering to) says nothing of the sort. Weapon focus doesn't either, and that works with non-magical staves. Of course right now I can't find the RAW which says you can't do these things, so some or all of these could be doable.

    Containing strike!

Probably because the ability was morphed into the fighters combat challenge.

Oh noes .. more Daggermaster cheese? (Warlock)

I believe that won't work because you're using it as an implement, not a weapon. Like "To the Nine Hells with You" Doesn't gain the high crit property just because the implement you use to cast it happens to be an axe(which is a holy avenger).

Swordmages and half-orcs hit the streets!

You don't have to push people with thunderwave(or any other power) if you don't want to, or you can push them, but less than the maximum amount if you want. The only response to "thunderwave is better than Dire Wolverine" I have is that area effects are a controllers "schtik", so the Ranger is...

Swordmages and half-orcs hit the streets!

This is, well, wierd. Do you teleport over there, half block the strike and teleport back? Do you teleport your weapon? I guess my question is, why does it have the teleportation keyword? Why doesn't it just themed tie the target up with webbing or thunder which hinders it's strikes/magic? If...

So, has anyone played a wizard in full plate yet?

Uhm, no. The "next highest Wizard" is going to have 30 int and have spent one feat to get leather, giving them (wait for it) a base AC of +14. Heavy armour for builds that actually get int or dex as a primary or secondary stat never really "pays off". Pretty good for star pact warlocks though.

If an area spell, like force orb, targets "enemies"...

I'm personally a fan of using prismatic cows.

Scimitar Dance:is it better to miss?

Firstly, if you are using any other attack(not including things like sure strike, which suck), you allways want to hit. Secondly, a more realistic 11th level ranger will have at least +2 weapons and often weapon focus, making it avg 8.5(minimum 5 damage) vs 5 damage, making hitting allways...

    why are orbs good again?

The Orb is the most interesting, and the only one that can be potentially broken, but the wand and the staff are competetive choices, yes. It's not like you're gimping yourself by taking them.

D&D 4E Crafting... can anyone make anything in 4E?

I've said this before, and I'll say it again, the rules do not only care about combat, they only care about adventuring, Social interaction and enviromental hazards are part of adventuring which is why they are in the books. Making a sword isn't, which is why it isn't.
