Just keep the one you need as a prereq for the better high-level maneuvers, and swap out the one you don't at the earliest opportunity. Sure, it sucks at low levels pretty much always having the option to give a +4 bonus to your allies' attack rolls when you dogpile something... Wait. OK...
4) Casting scorching ray is an "attack" -- it requires an attack roll to hit, does damage -- but is not part of the attack or full attack actions. The attack and full attack actions are for combat using weapons, primarily, whereas spells and the like tend to use the language of requiring the...
The beguiler from PHB II also has haste on their spell list. If you're not familiar with the class, it's something of a combination of rogue and wizard, focusing on enchantments and illusions.
In my games, all treasure accounting happens between sessions, via email. If folks need to spend 2-5 hours figuring it out, that's better spread out during the week than at the table.

As a DM, I will only resort to deus ex machina if the story absolutely needs it in order to continue. The usual example of this is a TPK, but sometimes I'll have found that I've painted myself into a wall, and am forced to, reluctantly, teleport my way out of it. In general, if players still...
It's times like these I really have to question the sanity of any fantasy society that doesn't simply cremate the remains of their dead. I mean, really, even in the best of times there are simply waaaaaay too many evil necromancers wandering about, just itching for an excuse to bring back the...
And don't forget necromancers always on the lookout for giant corpses to animate and add to their herds. You can almost see their eyes light up and hear that >>click<< that goes on inside their head when they stumble across a veritable mountain of decomposing flesh.
"Yeeeessssss...."...
I could have sworn that I read, somewhere, a feat that allowed someone to cleave into an opponent after sundering their weapon or shield, but for the life of me I can't find it. WotC's feat index was no help, and if I still had hair I'd be pulling it out in frustration. Am I losing my mind...
Awesome attention to detail!
Lazybones, your storyhour is such a guilty pleasure--so very, very good for the reader, so very, very bad for Dar & Co.

Race, actually.
I believe that it's been hinted at for a while now that Haley is an aasimar or some such (after all, her evil-opposite-twin is Sabine). In which case, as an outsider she gets full simple and martial weapon proficiencies.

I'm also looking forward to picking this one up soon.
Incidentally, WotC's excerpts are up: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20070618a

Even with veterans of the game, it can be difficult at times to remember what all their characters can do, or even should do, especially after an extended break in gaming sessions of some sort, or after a new character has been rolled up. In these situations, what I generally do is pull out one...
Time Stands Still is a Strike.
So by my reading, Raging Mongoose combined with Time Stands Still wouldn't work, as the former is an effect that grants additional attacks. Similarly, the entire TWF feat chain doesn't get you anything, and you can't Cleave if you drop a foe. Also, no to...
Actually, you can find LA+0 drow in one of the Savage Progressions articles on WotC's site: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/sp/20040213a
