What is the model scale for 25mm/28mm?

I decided to go with 1:72 since this is TWILIGHT:2000 and not sweat it that much. 1:48 models are way, way expensive for what I want to do and there won't be that much vehicle combat anyway. I may pick up a couple of ITALIARI Soviet kits since there's damn few papercraft 1:72 kits for stuff...

    I swing my sword

Anyone who brings this "I swing my sword" stuff to older editions is deliberately trying to not have fun with the game. Crying out "I need a rule to tell me what I can do!" is a sign of poor gamesmanship. If the dungeon master lets it go by without giving a novice player some hints or enjoying...

What is the model scale for 25mm/28mm?

Well, I'd rather go a little small than way too big, so 1/72 it is. Thanks guys.

How important are fantasy races to you?

Humans, elves, dwarves, gnomes, halflings, even half-orcs. That's my upper-end limit.

What is the model scale for 25mm/28mm?

Hey all... I've got a real conundrum here. I'm trying to get some models together for an upcoming TWILIGHT:2000 game - specifically some inexpensive military models of tanks and APCs and the like. All of the minis I can find for characters and NPCs are in the 25mm-28mm range. Most wargamers...

Picture of the Week: The original hot elf chick (?) and freinds

She just looks bored. (I wanted to put up that wonderful pic of Drelzna from S4 LOST CAVERNS OF TSOJCONTH but sadly the only image I could find quick-like was hosted on a rather fishy looking site...)

    Tabletop mech rpg

CRIMSON SKIES was supposed to be FASA's "next big thing" in tabletop games before they went kablooey back in 2000. The property was quickly picked up for computer and console games though. As far as actual mecha themed games go, go with HEAVY GEAR. This is from a guy who used to bag on it...

    Nostalgia for D&D

I got back into D&D in 1998/1999. I've gamed since I was 12, but hadn't touched D&D in over a decade, and even that's only if you count my abortive attempt to beat POOL OF RADIANCE on my Commodore 64. What really put me back in the mood was when a co-worker loaned me a copy of EXTRA LIFE...

The Problem with 21st century D&D (and a solution! Sort of)

Hm. According to Mr. Mearles' most recent column old AD&D is basic, comparatively speaking. Now wouldn't that make for an interesting release at GenCon. (and I know it's not going to happen so don't start in on me)

Mearls' Legends and Lore (or, "All Roads Lead to Rome, Redux")

For the sake of this reply, I'll stick to verdana. this time I don't agree with the tone of what Mr. Mearls is saying in his article. I remember that back in...good lord, 2008? Anyway what I said was: [/FONT] BUT: IIRC when I wrote that Wizards of the Coast hadn't interdicted and shut...

Mearls' Legends and Lore (or, "All Roads Lead to Rome, Redux")

Let this be a placeholder for a longer post but for now: in the context of the larger post, no, "get over it" wasn't offensive (to me). Had that been the totality of his post, or something like "oh god, you again. Get over it.", then, yeah, there'd be something. Mercurious I'll get back to...

DM's Suport Group: Most Cliche Player Behaviors Ever

I blame FIREFLY for this most recent pet peeve but it's the sudden appearance of corn-pone Mal Reynolds anti-heroes in a lot of games I've been in or run. Even more grating to my main bearings is when being a "big damn hero" is entirely inappropriate for the setting. Hey, Nathan Fillion, guess...

Why DMs Don't Like Magic Marts

I don't allow them not out of any like or dislike (when I was a kid I created a magic store in the titular KEEP ON THE BORDERLANDS that featured a candy-store like approach to the sale of wands, for example). It's just that in my campaign world, the Circle of Eight (and dukes, kings, etc.)...

Mearls' Legends and Lore (or, "All Roads Lead to Rome, Redux")

I'm going to preface this by saying I should probably have my head examined posting this message this late in the thread. I will also say that I have no dog (any longer) in the I-hate-4e-fight. I don't. With that said (and yes I posted something like this elsewhere, but I wanted to edit it up...

The Problem with 21st century D&D (and a solution! Sort of)

The problem with 21st century D&D is the same problem 20th century D&D had after the original set: it's aimed at D&D players, not people who have some time and an inclination to do something new and fun. AD&D suffered (somewhat) from being what it was: advanced. Read the DUNGEON MASTERS GUIDE...

The Case For Castles & Crusades

I found myself putting so much AD&D back in that I just stuck with AD&D (descending armor class, saves vs. siege, etc. etc.). Still, TROLL LORD GAMES do love their work and I wish them all the best.

DM's Suport Group: Most Cliche Player Behaviors Ever

I've run in to a corollary of this: the fragile flower who has had enough of bloodshed and violence (as their character background, before the game even starts) and will stop. Every. Fight. "NOooooooo we can't kill them! Our good is their evil! NOoooooo I can't take up the sword again! Or...

DM's Suport Group: Most Cliche Player Behaviors Ever

Hmm. Group of players who are all chaotic evil, irrespective of what actual alignment is listed on the character sheet. New player joins, tries to play a paladin by alignment, extant group sets about to make the Paladin fall. IOW, "Griefers"
