    Need help with an encounter

. . . this is an all-'round better option than mine. I'd go with this, especially to keep the creature variety that Avalon seems to want.

    Action points

I think I agree with this. You're gaining an action point to use before the end of your next turn. There's nothing explicitly saying that it is in addition to any normal action point usages for the encounter. So you retain your normal action points and get one for free with a time...

    Need help with an encounter

Wouldn't the cube attack the undead or the undead the cube? Chances are the cube wouldn't be there because it would have been destroyed. It has Int 1 and attacks anything that disturbs it or blunders into it. So I would remove the cube from the encounter to avoid the "encounter building in a...

The best Power in MP is....Warlord Utility 6 Power.

Rush of Battle is a Daily power whereas Guileful Switch is an Encounter.

    Serpentskin armor

I would say the flavour text is off, not the armour crunch. Hard to know. Could be they forgot the Property line, which may have included poison resistance 5.

    About them rituals

True enough. Also, I played around in the D&DI Character Builder and saw that a spellbook comes compliments of the house - no cost. You could always rule that a Wizard pays the full 50g (3 rituals) for the spellbook whereas the Cleric pays only 33g (2 rituals). 16g5s each, rounded down...

    About them rituals

I make my players pay for the spellbook, and I always pay for mine. Otherwise, Wizards start play with 70g unspent while others who've had to pay for everything start play with 5-15g.

(need this deleted. somehow I double posted...)

    Healing Surges

Sorry, that's my 5). I'll edit it to specifically say "results in death." True. I'll adjust option 1) to include clever use of environment. It isn't different. It's just a good way to capitalize on suspense and intensity by coupling healing surge loss creatures with environments that can...

    About them rituals

Really? I thought the key skill had to be Trained. Hmm... that really opens things up.

    Healing Surges

It's interesting that this conversation has come full circle... and is, more or less, starting over again. I think there are lots of good options given here for any DM who wants to use them, based on how they feel the situation ought to be handled: 1) Nothing happens. No healing surges means...

    Melee Ranger At-Wills?

Careful Attack isn't horrible. It doesn't live up to the other Ranger at-wills, but it's not worthless. You could allow a melee Ranger to take his/her third at-will from either Fighter or Rogue. That's relatively powerful, however, and would likely open up a can of worms from others at the...

I think Thievery or Streetwise would work.

    Armor that punishes for CA

Transfer Enchantment? Off-hand, I don't know of any armor that punishes foes making attacks vs PCs who are granting CA.

    Conditions Question

Yeah, that sounds right. Dazed and Immobilized could also work and are relatively similar to Stunned.

Fighter Weapon Talent and Double Weapons

Double-weapons require two hands so, yes, I'd say the same thing.

    Coup de Grace and Charge

Aye, Coup de Grace is a standard action in and of itself, not a result of a standard action.

    Large Monsters and difficult terrain

PHB, p. 284: "If such a creature enters two or more squares with different types of terrain, count that square of movement according to the most difficult terrain."

    Healing Surges

Central or Eastern time? ;) I think it'd take me longer to create a PC for 24th level than it would to drive there. heh Anyhoo... hopefully Falstaff has some food for thought and the discussion has opened up some possibilities for him.

    Monsters and Multiple attacks.

As per usual, it's DM fiat. There are good arguments for the Fighter getting an attack unless he is the target of each attack. There are also good arguments for the four attacks resulting from a single standard attack action; so long as one of the attacks in the attack action targets the...
