Mikes maps only cover a portion of the FR, I think the OP wants a reprint/update of the entire continent for 5e.

We have been running them interchangeably since 1994 at least. :) We even allow players to run classes form either if they dont like one or the other (2e thief gets more play than 1e thief for instance). We even 99% of the time use the 2e monster manuals instead of the 1e ones! Classes...

Well with a reprint of the 1e box (which is what the OP posted), you would not have Time of Troubles or 3rd edition Realms.

I have two copies of the original box set and it is awesome. I use one as a play copy and the other is mint. I think a reprint would be amazing.

Rules for NPC frequency is not new to 5e D&D at all. You having a different opinion than vonklaude does not make you right just because you think it is. I could implement his 'rule' right now and it would have no negative effect on my own game at all. Sheesh, its just a guideline to determine...

1e and 2e was not that bad since you can freely use classes, races, nwp's, spells, monsters, and adventurers for either with no work. Hell we still use 2e monster manuals for our 1e games and offer the 2e thief, bard, and specialty priests as options (among other things).
