Do you think WoTC should be sued?

I just LOVE the fact that after years of debate on thousands of different news groups, chat rooms, and forums, we here at EnWorld are finally going to settle this whole McDonald's thing once and for all. FINALLY! :]

In the Works: February and Beyond

I think it really is that simple though. You said that you can "try to get WOTC to move in the directions of products I want to buy and will use." Well the strongest way you can try to get them to "move in the direction" you want them to move is to vote with your dollars. If you don't like...

The game can only get as weird as the DM lets it get. :)

The flattening of Dungeons and Dragons

For years my group didn't even play with miniatures. On occasion we'd sort of sketch out relative positions on a piece of paper, but that was only in the really big fights. Later on we started using coins and little pieces of balsa wood with the character's names written on them, but it wasn't...

Please don't give R. A. Salvatore any ideas. Haven't we already suffered enough from his hand? :]

Do you think WoTC should be sued?

Heh, so you don't necessarily endorse the idea, you're just using the cable news "some people say..." technique, huh? ;) I'm imagining what it would be like if someone sued Wizards for the things you mentioned, and I'm still mentally face-palming. You're operating under the assumption that...

Well the DM can do anything he wants, so if vampires burn up in sunlight in your world, then I'd say the party better stock up on some Mordenkainen's SPF 300 sunscreen right quick. :D Seems like what they're going for with this book though, is adventures in the Shadowfell where sunlight doesn't...

Do you think WoTC should be sued?

Oh I think you could definitely find an attorney to take on the case...for cash, up-front. Even as a shareholder, making a case of mismanagement against Hasbro would pretty much be impossible, considering that they're only about 6 points down from their 52-week high.

Do you think WoTC should be sued?

No. This is a patently absurd idea.

Race would be the wrong approach. If your elven warlord becomes a vampire, he's still an elf, just a vampire elf. His race doesn't change. With regards to theme, however, that was my initial thought as well: it sounds better suited as a theme than a class. But I'll withhold judgment until I...

    Adventures

I too would recommend War of the Burning Sky. Become a member, it's actually very well written and even if you don't wind up basing a campaign on it, you'll get a lot of pretty good ideas. Another thing you can do is solicit ideas from your players. What would they like to see in a campaign...

In the Works: February and Beyond

Absolutely. And although in general something like a Vampire class just wouldn't interest me (it's been ages since I ran a campaign it would be appropriate for), it shows they're still thinking creatively. I'd rather see something like this than yet another book with yet more re-packaged...

At-will: Sparkle Effect: Drive your DM into a real-life murderous range. Game ends. Life ends. Thanks for playing. :] Ok, I can actually see this working in a dark "Ravenlofty" horror campaign with players who could roleplay it properly. And if I decided to run/play this type of campaign...

D&D 4E What should the next new official campaign setting for 4e be like?

What I'd really like to see WotC do is put out world "modules." ~64 page setting guides that rough out a fantasy setting. Not too much detail as to constrain the DM, but enough to make it easy on the DM who also has a life. Guides like this could be published quarterly, and then we'd get to...

D&D 4E What should the next new official campaign setting for 4e be like?

Not to de-rail the topic at hand, but I thought I'd mention that there are a lot of 3rd party publications that could easily be used to build a 4e campaign world. The great thing about "worlds" is that they're almost 100% fluff. Any world-specific mechanics could easily be figured out, if not...

Would love them to do a Greyhawk reboot as originally envisioned by EGG.

    Heal check in combat

Yeah, I should have remembered they were by the same publisher, duh! :) Shame 7S isn't published anymore. We didn't play a lot, but we had a good time every time we did.

Does the term "a creature" include yourself?

Agreed, this is a power that was clearly meant for the creature you choose to be a creature who is not your target. Otherwise there's always a target in range.
