Andy Collins: "Most Magic Items in D&D Are Awful"

To get at your apparent dig at my use of monsters and there abilities, our Level 6 party lost 2 of our 3 members to petrification when a basilisk killed them. My character escaped by fleeing. In our level 17 game, a Lich killed half the party with horrid wilting. I survived, due to being immune...

Andy Collins: "Most Magic Items in D&D Are Awful"

Grats on post 1337. My barbarian was level 8 with boots of +10 survival as his only magic item. We fought a Demon with DR10/magic, and we died. So, not only does it happen, it happened to me. I'm a big boy, and I can make new characters, and I didnt shed a tear, but I did feel like I didnt...

Andy Collins: "Most Magic Items in D&D Are Awful"

The problem here is somehow assuming that people who want magic weapons, better ac and better saves are somehow bad roleplayers who read the DMG and the MM. For the record, I've read the PRC's in the DMG, and the feats in the Monster books, and thats IT. I dont know the monster abilities...

White Wolf can take their Web Extras & Shove it!

Again, I'd feel better if I heard "Sorry" than I feel about this sort of proselytizing about how customers are stupid and deserve to be mistreated. As an adult, I recommend companies dont treat intelligent adults this way, or you risk the consequences.

I wouldnt play if I were invited. Life is too short for crappy games. Also, its moot, not mute.

Andy Collins: "Most Magic Items in D&D Are Awful"

Actually, in your hypothetical campaign, I'd give your ridiculous helm to charity, and walk around with my wooden longsword, and rusty platemail. You can keep your terrible items, thanks. I was "lucky" enough to actually play in a game like this, too. My level 8 Barbarian had NO magical gear...

Andy Collins: "Most Magic Items in D&D Are Awful"

Interesting to who? To you? Figurine of owlish power might be interesting to the DM, or maybe a ranger, but my Sorcerer couldnt care less about it. Yet it still counts against my wealth as though it were a useful item, and the Colossal Red Dragon now is apparently a fair fight, since I meet the...

[3.5e] Undersea Adventures: "Heirs of Turucambi"

As the resident crazy person, I have gone ahead and done up a character that isnt even rough, its a fully worked up monstrosity. I think we ought to do a rogues gallery thread, to put the crazy characters into. =) ((yes, this is a shameless bump.))

White Wolf can take their Web Extras & Shove it!

I'm not outraged by White Wolf so much as I am by the attitudes of the people defending their behaviour. I'll reserve my opinion on White Wolf till I hear their response. Fanboys excusing them while calling other people stupid make me not respect their opinion, however, so if their goal is to...

White Wolf can take their Web Extras & Shove it!

Other consumers see it as a big deal. That makes it a big deal. I'll tell you, and publishers, a secret though, "Making it right" wins customers for life. Your first "mistake" is your first opportunity. If you rectify it, you build customer loyalty. If you insult, or poo-poo it and make the...

White Wolf can take their Web Extras & Shove it!

This is counter to your statement. Why should I have to pay $4 to find out about the monster on page 16? Are you also trying to blow snow in my eyes? Or is Vraille making this part up? I believe the argument is made, and I believe from what I have read, White Wolf made a mistake. Saying sorry...

White Wolf can take their Web Extras & Shove it!

Being disingenuous makes customers unhappy. While it may garner you a couple of sales based on people who paid $40 and want the content to work, they have to pay the other $4, I'm even more skeptical, personally, of White Wolf products and am even less likely to purchase. I dont expect...

Standard Array Warblade: Where do you put the 10?

I'd go 10 in cha and 8 wis, because Moment of Perfect Mind = no need for wisdom, and Warblades should be smart AND sexy.
