Pathfinder 1E Question for the Paizo folks regarding D&D's state of today

False deliema. You can get what you need online without taking products online- we're in our 30-40 range and found our game via online, but its all face to face. Being online doent necessarily translate to virtual table top, DDI and other porducts that are online.

WotC Discontinues Minis: How Much Does It Affect You?

No effect. I use only non-Prepainted miniatures, so I can customize them to my likes and wants. I've got reaper, GW, rackham, otherworld miniatures, pathfinder, anything that ticklesmy fancy and fits what I want to do.

Ok, now i'm REALLY CONFUSED. AKA, do any of you think you know what WotC is doing?

They learned from Paizo's open play test. Its worked well for them, why not WOTC.

3 reasons why the design team shouldn't visit ENWorld

Bad reasoning. While Paizo had it I could very well have been just as good, given their track record. Further, what WOTC didnt count on was the outright backlash the cancellation caused(especially in light the fact wotc had to trot folks out with fond memories and calm the flames). It earned...

3 reasons why the design team shouldn't visit ENWorld

There's alot that the poster gets wrong- STickingyour fingers in your ear and calling it ":they hate you" doesnt solve anything either. Games workshop is a master at that and it does them no good- hell they shut down their own forums years ago. Interaction with your fan/customer base takes...

Borders trouble, could lead to BIG TROUBLE!

Uhm do you have links for that? Because I'm pretty sure Kmart didnt buy Sears, in fact Kmart was in trouble for a while.....

Borders trouble, could lead to BIG TROUBLE!

They have a great subscription model. I never, either borders or B&N see more then 1-2 books on the shelf from them, and its usually a suprise. Wizards, while it will suck for them, being the biggest game thats on their shelves, are also big enough to (hopefully) weather the books coming back-...

Borders trouble, could lead to BIG TROUBLE!

Cnt see it affecting paiazo that much. 100k? I rarely see more then one book from them on the shelves. I see more FFG ones then Paizo.

    Is D&D (WotC) flaming out?

Again, its apparant you arent paying attention to catsclaws examples. Do the majority of AP go more railroad like you say? Sure. Buyt they dont necessarily have to. Kingmaker is much more snadbox then AP. Same with Sumbering Tsar. Both have much more sandbox features then railroad ones.

    Is D&D (WotC) flaming out?

One could already argue its started already before, with the new red box, the essentials. They're alreday moving slightly away from 4e with reimaging.

Fantasy Flight Games statement on Star Wars License

GW isnt getting it. There's no information in that regard. In fact teh rumors that surround the star wars licesnse was a company getting it that had no miniature experience. HIGHLY doubtful GW gets the license.

Why I don't GM by the nose

Not necessarily. Depends on the DM's expectations. Having played w/ 3 different DM's, there are major differnces in puzzles and riddles: The first example., the DM had a series of riddles to do to get to the center of the place we needed. To put bluntly, It sucked monkey Balls. Seriously...

Why do you have a colossal...

Because I'm a dragon in diguise, and having a horde is what we do.

    The Father Of...

Arneson Sorry, that should read Arneson. Mispelling there. And yet none of those gaming interests would have lead to D&D. Woulda, coulda, shoulda.....yet none of those other ideas were either explored, nor used. Without each other, neither would have gotten D&D to where it went.

    The Father Of...

Without Arneson, Gygax wouth have nothing to push, nothing to print, no industry to create. I think you minimize Anderson to its detriment. Without him, Gygax has nothing to do.

Putting the PCs on trial for being heroic

Well, yes and no. On one hand if your players are the type that will buy in, it might be fun. On the other hand, there is the old saying: "No good deed goes unpunished" that some of us know quite well, and even the best players that buy in, sometimes its a bit too much, and will say Fk it...

    Excellent point on WotC mishandling

To be honest, your confusing video games with other games. Where as a video game gets run through and beat in days/weeks/months depending on the game.....RPG one, a campaign can last years and years. So putting out a new edition in 2 to 4 years pretty much defeats itself, as folks arent DONE...
