We always use minis. DM has thousands of prepainted stuff, I suppy the metal/plastic oens that are more unusual.

Is it ever a good idea to hit the party?

Actually, my character routinely throws himself into danger to save the party. He's cast spells that saved the rest of the party, while getting killed. Thrown himself down holes becasue the theif is grappled by a person to cause him to drop him, and thrown himself in the way of creatures...

Is it ever a good idea to hit the party?

Sometimes its necessary. We dont think its ok, but sometimes you do what has to be done.

What if you brought 4E back to 1970?

Would be a bit weird since I wasnt born until 2 years later.

Do you lament the lack of third-party or fan material?

Yeah that. Wotc might be producing adventures, but their not up to the quality of stuff I have. Paizo, Monte's stuff, Necro......you'll never see something of quality like Ptolus again.

Love the Game, Hate the Baggage

Unfortunately, thats not going to happen. Too much bad blood from WotC's going towards and after launch. But have fun with 4e.

I may have written myself into a corner...

The funny thing is, knowelege has a wealth all its own. I'd go with yur gut there and make it an intellegent ring. Its powers could be 1-2 a day of things like mass bull strength, or circile of protection vs evil or something that grants DR2 to all allies within 30'. Something that has a mass...

arguing with my DM: The Leadership feat(and a wizard)

You see, I dont disagree with any of those items above. So long as its laid out ahead of time. But now that I'm 10th level and you started, as the DM, to pull these and the leadership feat as descriped by the OP's DM? I'd have a problem with it midstream. It require a polite discussion between...

arguing with my DM: The Leadership feat(and a wizard)

Which would be fine, IF it was known ahead of time as the game started. Changed midstream, on a whim starts to get a touch on the caprice side.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder: Is it evidence that new editions don't need to be that different?

No. Fusion was Champions 4th editon. I was playing third in college, got out and fusion came along ast 4th and ugh, completely drew me away from the game. even 5th didnt draw me back as I had lost my group anyway.....

Dragon Con: A Sight of the Schism in action

Doubtful. Neither is Pathfinder society. I played alot of RPGA events in 2nd, even though I didnt like the rules. I love 3.5 adn Pathfinder, but doubt I'll be actually going to any events anytime soon. I cant be alone in that.

    On the marketing of 4E

Anyone can mock anything. However, if your a business, and your mocking part of your customer base while rolling out a new product? That is not so ok. Its funny, people defending WotC ask "what was it that turned your off or that upset you or such". Then, when folks tell in plain words...

    On the marketing of 4E

Its the product too, but yes customer relations helps alot. Its why games workshop has a crappy reputation with many of its fans where as privateer press can get a pass in the miniature game world. Customer relations always helps. Its not the only thing.....but it helps.
