D&D 5E (2014) (Houserule) Adding Int to Initiative for All Classes

This feels incoherent to me. You're arguing that Dex is a better fit, but your examples seem to suggest proficiency at a particular task is what matters, not Dex or Int. If anything, you seem to be saying to decide the initiative stat bonus based on the activity to be performed (make an attack...

D&D 5E (2014) (Houserule) Adding Int to Initiative for All Classes

I'll reiterate what everyone else is suggesting: just replace Dex with Int for Initiative checks.

    D&D 5E (2014) Paladin, Oath of the Anti-Arcane

"My friend asked me to make a Paladin with access to the Shield spell."

    D&D 5E (2014) Solution to ASI Problem

Yeah, I kinda left a lot unsaid with that proposal. My desire to replace scores with modifiers overrided the nuts-and-bolts description of how it would work.

    D&D 5E (2014) Solution to ASI Problem

Wouldn't you need to rebalance or tone down feats if you were to implement this change?

    D&D 5E (2014) Solution to ASI Problem

This would fix the slightly unintuitive feature that ASIs at character creation have diminishing returns, but don't in subsequent levels. I'm not sure that's a big deal, though. I'd rather fix it by eliminating ability scores altogether and replacing them with ability modifiers alone; that'd...

D&D 5E (2014) Mercer's Gunslinger Martial Archetype: Good, Bad, or Ugly?

It looks like a Weapon Master, but limited to a single esoteric group of weapons. Maybe I don't get it.

    D&D 5E (2014) Question about Ranger's ability vs Hordes

Since when is killing hordes a schtick of the Ranger? The 5e Ranger is the first one I remember that offers perks in that regard (the Hunter), and I think that is just to provide a different take on the favored enemy bonuses that they've always had.

    D&D 5E (2014) making 5E more "old school" (updated)

Make it so Fighters cannot take an archetype. Also, make it so fighters get no features at all. That's hella old school.

    D&D 5E (2014) Jeweler's Skill? Got a player increasing value of treasure..what?

That'd be tough for me. I don't even assign values to gems or pieces of jewelry, and it is pretty tough to look up the specific value of a gem when its listed value is in an adventure from several weeks ago. I normally just treat gems or valuable art objects as things you can trade for most...

D&D 5E (2014) The Nature of the Shield Spell

The shield spell creates a full body field that coalesces into shimmering crystal barrier when the field detects a discrete attack approaching it. The crystal barrier does not activate when it does not detect a discrete attack, such as a fireball or dragon's breath. That's how I see it.

    D&D 5E (2014) Polymorph Scenario

You clearly got the hint, though. If only you acted on it.

Barbarian - Path of the Gloambound

I don't want to go too crazy with the ability. It is only a level 14 ability, after all, and not a capstone in the traditional sense. One thing I did consider was immunity to poison and necrotic damage while raging, like other incorporeal creatures.

Barbarian - Path of the Gloambound

I considered that, but most of the abilities that spook, terrify, or otherwise do psychic damage (dissonant whispers, staggering smite, phantasmal killer, vicious mockery, etc.) call for wisdom saves. Harrowing Strike does psychic damage because it is a gory, horrific ghost getting all up in...

Barbarian - Path of the Gloambound

Here is an alternative take on Harrowing Strike, one that incorporates a more mobile gloam. Harrowing Strike At 3rd level, when you adopt this path, you may cause your Gloam to momentarily materialize in order to menace your foes. While raging, you can use a bonus action to target one creature...

Barbarian - Path of the Gloambound

I don't think the damage is too much here. It does less damage than the Storm of Fury - Sea power Storm Herald barbarians get at the same level, and that ability does not require a bonus action. That's only a UA Path, but presumably it'll be little changed in Xanathar's Guide. It is kinda...

Barbarian - Path of the Gloambound

This'll be my last bump. I'm feeling hopeful, though; if that thread with the parody barbarian path based on a comic book character can attract comments, I'm sure this one can.

D&D 5E (2014) Barbarian Archetype: Path of the Hulk

I'm really not sure how this class is supposed to incentivize unarmed combat. At every level, using a bog standard two-handed weapon does more damage. You might also want to tweak the description; as is, it doesn't sound much different from a Berserker. How is a Hulk's inner torment or fury...

D&D 5E (2014) Booming blade and green flame blade for clerics

I like the idea of melee attack cantrips, I just don't like their weird implementation that makes them meh for warriors and mages, but fantastic for clerics and rogues.

Barbarian - Path of the Gloambound

I'ma bump this because I think death ragers with ghost companions are cool. "Rage, rage against the dying of the light!"
