This is 100% exactly what I've been asking for and want to happen. That would be perfect!

D&D Insider Character Builder Open Beta live

Awesome! Great job, Wizards! It took about two minutes total to upgrade to the new version, and now it has the Barbarian, and the Martial Power stuff, and some new "zoom" feature for folks with smaller monitors, I guess. Looks good! Keep it up! $

Here I will post my ongoing campaign notes and the basic storyline of my new 4th Edition Forgotten Realms campaign, called New Wine, Old Wineskins. Let's start with some exposition... New Wine, Old Wineskins – Setting the Stage Sir Brianthalantyrael Emberdance -- Noble...

Man, you are the coolest DM ever. I wish I could run games that are as dynamic and awesome as this. You make the game sound amazing!

Other fairly recent, high-quality, professionally-produced, original fantasy RPGs?

This was me, for sure. I've been playing D&D in its various forms since about 1985-1986 or so, and I've always been a big fan. But somewhere about three years ago, or so, I just plain got sick of it. 3.5 was gloriously wonderful when it came out, but after running a long-term, very high-level...

Dude, I'd go live there NOW.

I personally like big changes in editions. What's the point, otherwise? I'm disappointed when I pick up the BRAND NEW EDITION of an older game, read through it, and see that it's practically unchanged from the version previous to it. I don't like thinking, "Wow, you could have just stuck two...

    layoffs?

Or because they just don't get caught all the time. I think people were shocked less about what unethical actions actually occurred, and more about the fact that the people involved managed to let themselves face accountability for it. Call me a cynic, but I don't think there's any realistic...

Other fairly recent, high-quality, professionally-produced, original fantasy RPGs?

Wow, lots of intriguing suggestions here. Thanks, folks. This thread got me to thinking. I've noticed something. Most of the older RPGs that I've played/looked at that have released various new editions over the years seem to be very, very similar in their latest incarnation to the original...

Other fairly recent, high-quality, professionally-produced, original fantasy RPGs?

I'm wondering if there are any good alternatives out there to D&D that I should be looking into. I have certain parameters, though: 1.) An original, built-from-scratch system. NOT a reskinning or adaptation of D20/OGL/3.x or older D&D, or of any other old school system, like HERO...

    Playtest: The Druid (merged)

Missing the ground isn't as ridiculous as it sounds. Go outside and mark a fairly large red X on the ground, then walk back 20-50 feet away from it. Now pitch baseballs at that X. No underhand tossing, no gentle lobbing. A direct, fast throw. Throw about 100 of them, and see if you hit that...

Man, that's terrible. Those are some really top-notch names in recent D&D history. So my question to Mr. Tweet and Mr. Noonan is this: Where can I make my Paypal payment to pre-order your upcoming releases from your new third-party publishing company?
