    Yeah, both.

    D&D General Self-Defeating Rules in D&D

Oh, and DnD lightsources: as far back as 1E we had helmets with little continual light rocks mounted in mirrored cones. Also continual light street lamps everywhere.

    D&D General Self-Defeating Rules in D&D

I love them both. I can't imagine my life without having watched the hell out of all their movies.

    So... no pirates?

Tell Us About Your Pirate Campaign(s)

Oooh. That's a tough one. Obviously dinosaur campaigns are awesome. But, given that pirates and dinosaurs tend to cohabit in similar locations (i.e.: tropical islands and seas) I think the only thing that can be done is to combine them.

GURPS Fantasy / Dungeon Fantasy (and beyond)

I know World in Flames used that for sea/ocean. Planes would count the dots. But ships wold use "sea boxes" which were much larger and more abstract.

Time travel doesn't exist because time travel wiped out the timelines where it did

And then there's Fry's version pf the Grandfather Paradox. To quote him: "I did do the nasty in the pasty."

    How Special Are The PCs?

Well, yes, they do have inherent protagonism. Ideally this will be because they've given me (I usually GM) some good disadvantages. (Remember I prefer HERO and other games with dis/advantages systems.) So a PC will have a rival, enemy, personal goal of some kind, loved ones to protect, etc...

    How Special Are The PCs?

I guess I don't really care about how they rate vs. perfectly ordinary NPCs, except as part of the setting background. It only really matters when the PCs engage the NPCs in some way. Not necessarily combat! So it depends on the game. High end supers - they're demi gods. Mere humans can be...

    How Special Are The PCs?

It really depends on the game. I like gritty, low power games where the PCs have to consider all fights to be potentially lethal. I like high power games where the PCs are virtual demi gods. The one caveat I have is that the main opposition has to be able to stand up to the PCs. Whether in...

King Kubrick: Ranking Stanley's Best Films

What Makes A Successful Superhero CAMPAIGN

Absolutely! I like this. It's also potential drama between 'passing' and 'non-passing' PCs (and NPCs) should players want to go there. A bit of Jokers vs. Aces energy, if you will. Oh yeah, replacement theory nonsense would of course be a major trope within the campaign. In my Theoretical...

What Makes A Successful Superhero CAMPAIGN

This threw me for a second til I realised you heard me in M&M or DC Heroes. But I was speaking in Champions. :-) 70 Active Points is a bit higher than the recommended starting 60 AP, but not outrageously so.

What Makes A Successful Superhero CAMPAIGN

The reason I want to do an all muties campaign some day is because I want to play with all the classic mutie tropes of being outsiders. Now, I can do that in a no holds barred, any type of character you want game. But I've always been bothered by the disconnect caused by the general public...

Which 80s wargames and adventure games do you still play?

Are you making counter stacks on the side tables, and then writing the stack name/identifier on the map (with dry eraser)?
