What do people play more of nowadays?

I actually prefer WoD for mechanics (oWoD combat, nWoD skills & character creation), but they aren't my preferred styles of settings. I voted 3.5 derivatives/pathfinder, personally. They support the types and quantities of magic I'd like, even if I'm not fond overmuch of levels and classes.

What do people play more of nowadays?

True, not significantly statistically meaningful. I know for example, that I often don't check the General RPG discussion, and tend to hang out in the legacy/pathfinder boards on ENWorld. But I figure it I leave the poll running for 2 months, maybe the number of people who vote will be a...

What do people play more of nowadays?

I knew I missed a bunch game types that would occur to me after. Percentile (Warhammer) Unisystem Gurps I mostly play pathfinder lately. It's the most commonly run game in my gaming group, though when I run it it tends to be heavily houseruled and be more of a merger of Trailblazer and...

What do people play more of nowadays?

Now, I don't want to see the arguments for/against, I just wanted to see if I could get a general Idea about something. How many people have mostly switched over to 4e, how many are playing 3e/3.5, how many are playing a 3.5 derivative like pathfinder, true20, or what have you? and if you...

    [3.x] Racial Ability Homebrew

Having a racial feat you get automatically at specific levels, is alot like the paragon class idea. Pretty much the same as my racial paragon without the levels, requirement. but you'd have to make sure that thy don't spend their normal feats, and that they can't pick a normal feat instead of a...

    [PFRPG] FR Racial Modifiers

Okay, I'm trying to convert over various 3.0/3.5 FR stuff to use with the PF system. Here is my first draft of races. I want them to be roughly on par with the PF versions power-wise. Small Notes: 1. I'm avoiding any flat-out immunities, unless they have to be there. 2. Favored CLasses are...

    [3.x] Racial Ability Homebrew

You could use racial paragon classes. Basically, it's how Arcana Evolved, WoW d20, and most of the monsters I have ever designed handle LA. it's brilliant. Essentially, every LA is an actual class level, designed to be on par with regular levels. They give a HD, skill points, and provide the...

Pathfinder 1E How to get a Pathfinder Society Game going?

Very interesting. How do you get legit versions of the modules? and once the event is reported, is there some way to notify whether the seats have been filled?

Pathfinder 1E How to get a Pathfinder Society Game going?

I'm a bit fuzzy on how it works... There are no PFS games in my area. We have some small conventions we're putting together, and we were wondering how to go about setting up a PFS game for them. I read the document, it seemed a little vague on this process. IS it something that you go...

If you object to a rule...

Recently I sa a thread where someone commented on the PFS rules, and objected strongly to having players be able to do something that they are 'allowed' to do in PFS. Now this isn't to re-dredge up the specific issue, but more-so to get thoughts on this: Pathfinder Society games are not your...

Pathfinder 1E FR Races for Pathfinder. First Draft: Comments?

Okay, I'm trying to convert over various 3.0/3.5 FR stuff to use with the PF system. Here is my first draft of races. I want them to be roughly on par with the PF versions power-wise. Small Notes: 1. I'm avoiding any flat-out immunities, unless they have to be there. 2. Favored CLasses are...

Pathfinder 1E What we want in our Golarion...

While I understand the smaller books are easier to produce and put out (you don't need as much material), I'd really like to see an Encyclopaedia Golarica, a book with the heavy detailed articles on the gods, and the heavy detailed texts on the cultures, races, organizations, and countries...

Let's rant! When house rules get stoopid...

I tried out a houserule that was terrible. interesting, and hilarioius, but terrible. *you can make AoOs with ranged weapons against a valid target.* a player provoked an AoO. A dozen bandits with crossbows were going to shoot down the player. All of the other players with ranged weapons got...

    Backwards compatibility advice?

For what it's worth, with estimates using Upper Krust's CR Guide as a guideline, and comparing a bunch of stuff, here are the main power differences, approximately. in 3.5, races are worth a third, to half a CR. in pathfinder they're worth half, to 3/4 a CR. in 3.5 characre classes are worth...

    Pathfinder 1E Disenchanted with Pathfinder

I'm a fan of pathfinder, in that I feel it does address many of the things I did not like about 3.5. Trailblazer addressed many other things I didn't like about 3.5. I'm quite picky about my game mechanics. So I take pathfinder, trailblazer, and a large number of houserules and make it into a...

new rule: Caster Level = Character Level

Caster Level = Character Level is a bit much. Best Fix: Caster Level, and Spell Slots, etc, are BAB-like. You really want to pick up trailblazer as it's amazing. Fast Fix: Have ALL class levels that don't add to your caster level/spell slots add 1/5 a level's worth, to a max of your caster...

Playable Vampire: From Level 0 Up.

After a bit of Playtesting and character building, I determined the temp HP is too much, and the DR scales too fast. This is in need of an update, and I'll be looking into doing so as soon as I move to my new place.

    D&D 4E Forgotten Realms 4e Changes: Good/Bad?

I know that this is a pro 4e thread. That's all well and good. I posted it here because it's a 4e product. I'm mostly asking about it's usefulness fluff-wise (discarding all mechanics as anyting but guidelines) for use in any other system, as I'll be running a fairly heavily altered Pathfinder...

    D&D 4E Forgotten Realms 4e Changes: Good/Bad?

I know more about pre-4e realms than the average D&D player, but I'm not a hardcore grognard that has been playing since the old grey box, nor do I think 'grey box only' is the best time period of the realms. I also don't like the annoying cliche characters I've seen based on Drizzt Do'Urden. I...

    What setting are you using?

To the OP: I Buy Pathfinder More for the Game than the Setting, but I do make setting purchases. Golarion is not my favorite Setting, that would be 2e/3e Forgotten Realms, but I'm running it at the moment because I wanted to try something different. This week the players will be pulled into...
