D&D General How am I a D&D outlier? How are you one?

There's no such thing as a "feat tax". People just want to play a high level character at level 1. That's why they want to have uber long backstories as well. "Balanced" and "powerful" are antonyms.

D&D General How has D&D changed over the decades?

While the setting has expanded greatly, the gameplay feels much more constrained than before.

D&D General How am I a D&D outlier? How are you one?

I like Epic Level Gameplay. It feels like a waste to just have a campaign or characters retire just because they hit Level 20. I hate playing in pre-established settings. I think part of that comes from the feeling that they're all just Medieval Europe which feels generic. I like the...

D&D General Poll: How tough should 20th Level Fighters be? (MCU edition)

Spider-Man is miles stronger than a level 20 fighter in terms of raw strength. It’s just that he plays like a rogue that he comes off as “weak but skilled”. That’s why I couldn’t never buy the idea that level 20 characters were superheroes or invincible.

D&D General Poll: How tough should 20th Level Fighters be? (MCU edition)

Yes, I did, in fact, vote for Star-Lord.

D&D General Do you use Alignment in your D&D games?

Alignment, 90% of the time, is supposed to be descriptive rather than prescriptive. A person is LG because they make LG actions. I feel like people forget this a lot of the time and focus on the 10%.

D&D General Poll: How tough should 20th Level Fighters be? (MCU edition)

Oh please. They’re not nearly as strong as people say they are.

    D&D 5E (2014) Orcs and Drow in YOUR game (poll */comments +)

I like to do a percentage roll to determine the alignment of non-important NPCs. “Often” means “33% chance of being that alignment with a 33% chance of being within one step of it and 33% chance of being within two steps of it”. “Usually” and “Always” follow similar rules. For NPCs integral to...

D&D General What Would Happen if Fiends Came to Fill the "Low CR Monsters" Niche?

That feels somewhat restrictive in my opinion. A good person can look and act like anything so long as they’re not doing anything bad. There wouldn’t be a point in codifying what a good creature tends to act like. That’s why even stereotypically good creatures such as Dwarves and Elves only...

How do you know you weren’t on the tracks to begin with?;)

That would be nice, but then society would harass you for doing nothing.

D&D General I really LOVE Stomping Goblins

It's funny that you mention the Trolley Problem, since a manga that I like, QED, did its own analysis on it. Moral of the story, it depends on the campaign.
