    Humorous descriptions for skill failures/successes

This works well with my character that is a shaman and constantly paying attention to the wrong things. Talking to plants when a mad killer army is charging the party. Note as a DM I find I give different results to people based on their skills. Someone that has a high spot and rolls poorly...

Is piracy a serious issue for game developers?

I just had a weird thought. Hmm, back in the time of cassette tapes in my car I was known to make multiple copies of a CD in tape format to play. Mostly I made the multiple copies because my tape player ate them. Note, 1 backup copy is usually allowed by law. Can you imagine the effect in...

    describing attacks?

12th level character The claws of the dragon swipe across Kalador's chest, crushing the breath from him, and likely fracturing a few ribs. The wall behind him crumbles to powder with the impact, and yet Kalador still stands. A bit wobbly on his feet, but he's take such blows before. Likely it...

    Heward's Handy Haversacks in Haversacks

Yes. just have someone that is a really good basketball player. Tie one up really tight into a ball. And shoot for the opening. Man that'll take out some big bad someplace. Just make sure not to aim too close to the treasure. :)

Anyone else have a bad experience with RPGshop.com?

I believe there is a temporary hole that sucks things in and regurgitates them afterwards. I can send something to freelancers in UK and freelancers in Canada at the same time... and those in UK many times get it first. Of course it could be that there are a lot of gamers in the customs staff...

    "Assassinator?" WTF!

Yeah, I remember a Top Secret game in high school that devolved into a massacre at a hotel we were supposed to be doing surveilance at. We were so paranoid, we took out about 30 hotel guests over time, and some of the neighborhood population. It is much easier to handle a normal hack and...

    The market dying?

Probably more accurate to say "nobody here" likes them. The target audience they cater to is not as likely to peruse these boards. And in fact is part of the demographic that is shrinking. Which will likely make it hard for them to keep their place in the market.

Admit it. Who else did this?

I remember cleaning out the Keep on the Borderlands... the keep, not the caves. :) I was 8 at the time, but I figured that since it was the name of the adventure, it must be an evil place and should be rid of everyone.

    ? For PDF Publishers

I still want to know if they'll be adding an OGL to every page. Otherwise if they only have one for the site, it will make the whole project completely unusable to publishers... I mean can you imagine the section 15 block? Even if you only use 1 item, you'll end up with a 400 page book just...

Why I only buy open content

No Joe.. currently it is Electrum. I just looked. And the Jump from Gold to Platinum is a major pain in the neck. That takes an extreme effort. I wish there was a ranking for 750+ sales. Mind you it would only change the ranking of one of my products at present, but a second one would be close.

    scouts and skirmishing

Folks I've seen use it end up being annoyed.. because in the end the scout can't do multiple attacks a round (since they moved)... so this is much less useful at higher levels.

Why I only buy open content

You know.. even if the whole product is OGC it is really a good thing to contact the publisher anyway. They like to hear how things will be used. Heck some will even provide you with a text file with the materials you need in it, so you don't have to retype. Some will give you publicity on...

    Natural Disasters

I admit.. I'm a network/computer geek. I read Cat 5, and though why is there a network cable running there. *sigh* :) Which product has the best rules for handling navigation in a storm of that size?

D&D 4E What would you want to see in 4e?

Tons of conditional modifiers in play already, yes it adds to the calculations, but it may be worth it. Then again it might not. Can have a whole thread on this aspect alone. For me, my version of 4e will have all the rules I've written and published. Okay maybe not. I know like many other...
