You are. Both. There should be a standard paladin and some kind of divine warrior. I think what most of us object to is the name "paladin." I'm totally on board with a chaotic good Liberator or some such, or even a chaotic evil blackguard. But a paladin, they ain't.

Bennies ruin Savage Worlds for me. I hate the concept of bennies, fate/fortune points, etc. And in SW, they are so ingrained into the rules that I can't easily remove them. Too bad, it's a pretty good game, otherwise.

Predators tend to attack weak targets, not strong ones. Doesn't matter if he knew the pc was a mage or not - no armor, no large weapons, makes for an easier target.

1E got the ranger right. It hasn't been done right since. No class should be hardwired into fighting with any weapon(s). The 1e ranger (and any fighter, really) can be an archer, a greatsword wielder, sword and board, two weapons, you name it. He's stealthy, but can wear plate if needed...

I didn't vote. I neither love it, nor hate it. There are some good ideas, and it's mostly a good game, but there are too many dealbreakers for me to buy it.

It would only be 3-18 vs 6-12 as it stands now. And on a greater bell curve. And I actually like greater variability. Yeah, 2-24 might be a bit much.
