Very cool, he's a class act.

    Boston ENworld Game Day–Mission Accomplished

Alright, I was just trying to be flexible in case anyone else felt more strongly about getting into one game or the other. The way you've got me down is great. Thanks!

    Why do we need Fumbles?

I like fumbles, I think they can definately add fun to the game, as long as they're not overused. Whether or not they appear in movies or books is irrelevant to me, I'm not trying to simulate either one when I play D&D.

    Boston ENworld Game Day–Mission Accomplished

Okay, I believe I can do this.* I'll come for breakfast (I could bring munchkins or something). In the morning, it's a toss up between 7th Sea and Red Star, though frankly the zombie game sounds good too. So really, whatever works best. In the afternoon, my top choice is definately d20...

Need your thoughts on prepainted miniatures.

As others have said, I'd prefer plastic assuming that it would be cheaper that way. I like metal minis for the ones that are cool enough to paint myself, but for pre-painted minis I want to keep 'em as cheap as possible.

    Races of the Wild

Psionics Is it really fair to still be saying that "psionics gets so little support". Besides Dragon and even one adventure in Dungeon, psionic support has now appeared in all three races books, Frostburn, the Eberron Campaign Setting, and Lost Empires of Faerun. That's a fair chunk of the...

Pathfinder 1E Paizo improved? probably a myth

That's too bad, in my opinion Dungeon has improved a great deal in the past 7 months or so (since the relaunch), and the past issue or two of Dragon (since Erik took over) shows signs of doing the same. Assuming I'm not alone in this opinion, I hope the word will get out and people will realize...

    Party-tracker combat sheet

I have a sheet that I made in Excel that might work but it's not hosted online. Email me at my username at hotmail and I'll shoot it to you.

Pathfinder 1E Paizo improved? probably a myth

How do you define "on time"? Does that mean that you receive it before you see it in a store?

    Sell me on D&D Miniatures

Game Outfitter has the Deathnkells on preorder for $93.95 (plus $8.95 shipping). They're $115 at Popular Collections (but not extra shipping charge). You can generally find cases in about this range if (just google the name of the current set along with the word case or mini). There are 12...

    Sell me on D&D Miniatures

For me, D&D minis have definately been worth it, as they've allowed me to build up a large selection of monsters, and now I don't mind buying and painting metal minis for a big encounter, or to fill the holes in my collection. Before D&D Minis, I would go through phases of trying to collect and...

    When using published adventures...

I generally don't tell them, but like Maliki, I don't make tons of effort to hide the module either. None of my players would want to go out and buy the module, read it, and cheat anyway, so if there's any concern at all, it's simply not to give anything away too soon.

    How high have you started?

I voted level 1 because I always start at the beginning for a full fledged campaign (or level 3 fro Dark Sun back in the day). For one shots or short story arcs we'll start higher if needed, generally in the 4-6 range.

    DM's: Highest Level Campaign?

Most of the characters in my current game will be hitting 8th level after this week's session. That'll be the record for me, but just barely. My longest running 2e campaign lasted until right around this point - one or two characters made it to 8th but most were still 7th. Of course, my...

    Does EGG still write modules?

Yes. He generally writes them for his Lejendary Adventures game, and the ones that are published in d20 have someone else doing that part of it. He is currently working on Castle Zagyg for Troll Lords games, which uses the Castles & Crusades ruleset. I'm not sure whether or not he's actually...

How do you organize your Home Brew?

Mine is fairly unorganized. I have a notebook that I use for notes that I need to refer to (or make) during sessions. Then I have a number of files saved on my harddrive that cover different things like a few major NPCs, the calendar, language info, history, etc. It only really comes together...

How do you stop a DM from starting NEW campaigns all the time?

There's been a fair bit of good advice (and some not as good) in this thread already. Ultimately, it's a matter of preference. Running a game is hard work, and if the GM isn't into it, it's not going to work out well. But the players need to be into it too. Sometimes, compromise is the best...

    Preperation Time

Short answer...a few times. Long answer: I generally read a module when I buy it, and often don't have a need for it right away. Once I decide to use in the campaign (or am considering doing so), I generally read it again, thinking about how it needs to be changed in order to work for my...

    Coolest bits of Unearthed Arcana

So far we've used dwarven paragon class and the dragon totem variant barbarian (though we only use the mechanics, not the actual dragon totem). Both are being used by the same character. He's only been around for several sessions and will be retiring in a few more, so it's hard to say how well...

Why aren't humans in the MM?

I think it's to save space. There isn't really a standard human like there is with the other PC races, and the humans of various classes are all in the DMG anyway. A human entry in 3e stats would either be way too long to include various types as it did in 1e/2e, or it would fail to represent...
