I do this weird thing where if the player wants their character to try a long jump I think about whether they should automatically succeed, automatically fail or or if they should roll an Athletics check. Jumping rules? Don't need 'em.

I would totally take MIndless Rage, Fanatical Focus, Aura of Protection, or New circle of the Moon forms over an ASI. But since I pretty much only play non-casters to half-casters I'm certainly no expert on all the features.

I think it is what we are comparing. Or at least should be. The spellcaster gets access to level 5 spells at 5 true with is comparable to extra attack, but full casters are also getting another 3rd level slot at 6, Or am I mistaken? I don't play fullcasters.

I'm not sure they give up more to do so actually. The Fighters have those 2 extra feats, but that's part of a basic core class package that in theory should be equivalent in cost to the cleric core class package. The Fighter's extra feats come at the cost of other reduced class features...

Eh, Barbarians besides Totem Warriors and Ancestral guardians fall into this category too. As do a lot of Monks I think.
