D&D 5E (2014) Death Saves gem stone dice

Sometimes I wish I could be impressed by cool dice sets. I just like to have my different dice shapes color coded so In know when I roll a red one it's a d20 and not one of my d12s which are green.

Disney+ full launch day line up

This was all I needed. After getting my son to watch through Transformers (84), Ronin Warriors, and Batman: the Animated Series my quest to expose him to the great cartoons of my youth will be nearly complete. Still waiting on Exosquad though.

Sensitivity Writers. AKA: avoiding cultural appropriate in writing

The eternal quest to drive cheeseburgers into my gut does not recognize political borders.

Sensitivity Writers. AKA: avoiding cultural appropriate in writing

In my mind I've started using the terms Majority Privilege and In-Power Privilege. This is the first time I've actually used them in a conversation with another human being. Likewise travelling highlighted the effects of both to me.

I've bookmarked that one as I think I'll be going back to it again and again.

D&D 5E (2014) Shawn Merwins guided tour of adventure creation

I hate when things link to videos. I can read much faster than I can listen.

    D&D 5E (2014) Archetypes to add to 5e

Think you're sick of it now? Just wait until I show up at your door holding the 5e PHB asking if you've heard the word of our good lords Perkins, Mearls, and Crawford. I just gotta figure out how to attach my black name badge to my chainmail shirt. 🤔

    Intelligent Beings

Didn't Ed Greenwood say (even recently in an article on very site) that the FR is quite literally many realms that were forgotten? Likewise the Witcher novels and games take place in a world that had a "convergence" of worlds in the past which dumped elves from the elf world, vampires from the...

Neat! I really like Shawn's AL stuff.

Solid use for adventure design. My mind was more going towards fantasy fiction. Probably because I've read a lot more fiction than played in a variety of adventures or RPGs. This is one think I've noticed about the Malazan books. Realistic-ish ancient cultures abound.

D&D 5E (2014) Paladin just committed murder - what should happen next?

@firstkyne I appreciate you giving us more information. I do think the action is contrary to some of the Tenets of the Ancients' Oath. Here's how I would handle it. In game: The next time the Paladin uses any paladin ability like smite or lay on hands, or the next time he long rests...

D&D 5E (2014) Paladin just committed murder - what should happen next?

Ha! Probably. Another anecdote: My party once encountered some townsfolk that had been captured by goblins. The goblin chief was feeding them one at a time to a group of giant rats. So we fought the goblins. The last goblin threw down his weapon an surrendered, then my Barbarian killed him with...

Sensitivity Writers. AKA: avoiding cultural appropriate in writing

In a historical sense sure, but when you start crafting fantasy cultures based on real world cultures what you choose to include from history and what you choose to exclude comes under more scrutiny. Also it's harder to show your work on said fantasy culture when you can't even say what percent...

Sensitivity Writers. AKA: avoiding cultural appropriate in writing

It's something I think about. If I only write according to my own background that leads to its own problems, but when crafting fantasy cultures how do I not appropriate? The only thing I think I've figures out right now is "avoid tropes about real world cultures".

    Matchmaking for gamers?

An LFG app that takes carious survey options into consideration is certainly possible, but it would be a big endeavor as Umbran says. Also I'm not sure if the return would be there as it would be as complex as that matchmaking software is but those companies make some big money.

D&D 5E (2014) Paladin just committed murder - what should happen next?

Oh man I would have loved to have this encounter with my current CN Barbarian. But he would absolutely die before letting anyone, even a dragon, give him ultimatums. But I think character deaths when fitting can be fun. (I admit this has nothing to do with how I would handle this situation...

D&D 5E (2014) Paladin just committed murder - what should happen next?

I could absolutely see a Vengeance Paladin making this choice and still being well within the tenets of their oath. Conquest too. However, if this is counter to this Paladin's oath's tenets i would stat having the character receive dreams implicating that their oath was on shaky grounds, and...
