Based on the review, TB's "personal tastes" appear to be: imaginative use of game mechanics, interesting, coherent backgrounds, and distinctive, memorable characters. That crazy guy. :D

There is a big battle in Lion. The Battle of the Fords. The novel focuses on Lucy, Susan and Aslan's trip to the Witch's castle instead of the battle, but the battle does happen.

IIRC Wizardru's guys had the first encounter and then ditched the module as a bad idea.

If I'm playing an item-crafting character, I use them a lot. I have a wizard with scribe scroll (of course), craft wondrous item and craft magic arms and armor. He's made a lot of scrolls, several wondrous items, and a couple of magic shields and armors, so far.

Depends on the Cleric. My Half-Orc Cleric of Hextor used it a lot. Divine Power + Righteous Might + Heavy Flail + Power Attack = Boo Yah. My vote's for Improved Critical.

I must suck as a playtester then, because I didn't give my monsters any tokens and they did just fine. Sure, Iron Lore PCs get tokens. But they don't get +5 flaming burst holy greatswords. It's a bit of a trade-off :)

Played it. Hated it. d20 Modern would work much better, IMO.
