While there was some confusion at the start of the campaign (since originally in other campaigns they used special mission), secret mission is actually the correct wording. (see page 21 of the ALPG).

Faction Assignment = Something small your faction asks you to do. Happens about every other adventure. Usually gives you 2 renown. Faction Secret Mission = Additional encounter, often includes a risk of death. Happens once/season/tier (excluding tier 1). Usually gives you 2 renown and a secret...

Given that the AL only puts out things in a season, would it be better to start a new PC, say at level and say you never get to leave. Or perhaps just not say there are anyways out and imply you may never ever get that PC back if you choose to play any of that AL season?
