It is a joke, because there was a Mario Kart game called Double Dash.
If you take your movement, use your Action to Dash, and then use your Bonus Action to Dash again, that would be a Double Dash
This isn't Mario Kart, we don't Double Dash.
I see Dash as a Bonus Action as giving more options in the action economy.
Attack, Move, Dash.
Hide, Move, Dash.
Disarm Trap, Move, Dash.
Spell, Move, Dash.
Hi, my name is Barry the Fighter!

I wear platemail, and tons of it. Not just your average platemail, no, I wear what I like to call, "Double Plate!"
I am not good in stealthy situations because I wont dare part with my double plate...
Hi, my name is Tim, and I am a Wizard. My goal is to become really powerful in the ancient arts and learn old, powerful magics.

I learned about the publishing business -- mainly because I wanted to get published.
I find a lot of R.A. Salvatore's videos & podcasts on the subject matter to be really useful.

Don't tell Bob I said this, but I like his...
Didn't Gygax and Arenson work together to create D&D?
What did Barker create?
Unless you're referring to settings, in which Gygax created Grey Hawk, and Arenson create Blackmoore. I am not familiar with Barker though.
I like collecting TTRPGs, and I came across Castles & Crusades a while back. It must of been one of the older editions because it was still in black & white.
From what I understand is it takes 2nd edition D&D and makes it a bit smoother? And if I am not mistaken this is a game Gygax helped...
