Correction, it's being jointly published by Children of the Grave Press and Code Monkey Publishing LLC. How do I know this? I'm writing the book. :)

How do you disable the DING! in PCGen?

That's in the works. :) After the coding is completed to make sure we're OGL/D20 compliant, we have a few bugs to clear up, then we'll be working on adding a way to edit list files... That may be in the tools section, or we may make it a seperate java app, we're still debating on how we want...

    File type discrimination

Smetzger, Let me clear this up for you, both Leopold and I talked with the team leads for the various netbooks AND the council asking for permission, we got it. If they were the wrong people to talk to my apologies, but please stop saying we 'lied about obtaining permission' it gets old...

Mongoose, GenCon & the D20 Smackdown!

YOU!!! MY GOOD TWIN!!! WHERE WERE YOU?!?!?!? I looked for you, but to no avail, mum will be so mad! No one knew where you disappeared to! Oh, and to keep it on Topic, sounds like it was a blast and perhaps next year there will be a new player in that game. ;) But I'll get into that later. :)

PCGen and Wizards of the Coast Stage Talks At GenCon!

Thanks for the vote of support! Too many people have been dogging on PCGen, on E-Tools, on Wizards, etc... that it gets old. *Start cheap shameless plug* I called into Adlon's Mortality Radio show tonight and addressed some of the rumors/questions/issues that have been around... I'd suggest...

PCGen and Wizards of the Coast Stage Talks At GenCon!

A great amount of positive things have occurred since Saturday at GenCon, and all of it can be attributed to Mr. Anthony Valterra from Wizards of the Coast!!! Bryan McRoberts (Merton Monk), W. Robert Reed III (Mynex), Jason Buchanan (Lone Jedi), and Andrew McDougal (Tir Gwaith), sat down at...

    Problem solved, please ignore...

Well let me ease your mind... Yes there are changing going on to the code and list files, yes these will most likely break older list files, but the end result is more control for the end user to edit/add their own custom campaign material or their private ownership of the non-SRD materials...

What were the 3 software developers ordered to cease and dissist?

    1) No one ever said any such thing, we said if any publisher we contacted said no, then we would have no problems with that, or if we had the files yank them immediately... I've stated that so many times I can type it in my sleep. 2) Not one publisher said anyting about concern or worry about...

    How Is There Still PCGen?

Re: Re: Let me step in here please You and I have both stated we're not lawyers, so I'm not going to continue a fruitless debate on the points we've both addressed. You've made other points over the rabidness of PCGen users, and yes, there are many... just as many E-Tools rabid folk as well...

    How Is There Still PCGen?

Leopold answered 2-4, so that leaves 1. :) Yes, PCGen makes a ton of stuff at startup for quick reference after the initial get go. This has been worked on and improved, and is continuing to do so. There are still some speed issues, and we actually have a couple of code monkeys that LIKE...

    How Is There Still PCGen?

Ranger, You know why the supporters of PCGen started doing that? (and no, I don't condone it, it irritates to many people). Simple - The Dealy of M/E-tools, the stripped down functionality, and the _biggest_ reason of all... Slamming of PCGen on the wizards boards... which basically boils...

    How Is There Still PCGen?

Uhrm.. Please explain to me how PCGen 'sucks for those of you (us original) who write programs that try to follow the OGL'?? I'm not seeing how PCGen prevents or interferes with you writing your own software. OH, you mean it sucks for those that are writing software and charging for it. Got...

    How Is There Still PCGen?

    1) Who did you complain to? I don't recall you contacting anyone about it. Doesn't mean you didn't, but I've been involved with PCGen since before any of that was added. 2) Really, a computer scientist AND a SysAdmin. Hrmm... Do you code Java as well? If so, then by all means come join our...

    How Is There Still PCGen?

Let me step in here please Several points to make, so I'll try to be brief. 1) This thread started near to being a flame against PCGen. That is unnecessary and uncalled for. 2) The Wizards boards have a wonderful tendancy to be EXTREMELY rude to anything non wizards, Ranger, you can attest...

    Permission for OGC?

Thanks again, didn't mean to bring it back up, but I really couldn't find diddly about this stuff (for some reason, my brain just couldn't think of the right phrases to search for). Thanks for the info, I'll definately poke into those lists and see what's what. Since it is obviously an issue...

    Permission for OGC?

Okay fine, so where's the threads so I can read them? Sorry, but I haven't been over them, and every time I ask about them, I get exactly the response above.

    PCGen 2.7.3 the Final Beta

It's not a competition with E-Tools, and neither will it be charged for, it will continue to remain free. By Production release, we mean out of beta... :)

    Permission for OGC?

Software - how do you see it fitting in? You subverter you! :p But my question is serious in nature. Software and OGL compliance, How does everyone see this working together peacefully? I can only answer from the side of working on PCGen. Everyone except for 2 publishers that I have...
