What makes an average gamer who buys things? I'd imagine it's a DM who owns the three core rulebooks. Indie RPGs would be directed at those who have any desire to go beyond the three core rulebooks.

My personal variation on this is to use the something similar to the injury rules in the SRD and just have a Sanity Save. (AKA, Charisma check) For special ops, you could probably use a will save to make the saves a little easier to fail. http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/adventuring/injury.htm

Seems as good an idea as any - but are your players up for it? (If not, you can kill the PC's and take their stuff...:p)

Edit: My bad - one caster could attempt to counterspell the spell another was using the counterspell the original caster... although things seem to get really complicated from there on out

Other - Yes, I allow psionics, and I will CONSIDER stuff beyond the core.

Just a note, it's often easier to disarm a pc than to sunder their weapon, and then the party has to recover it. (And why didn't your sunderer not have improved sunder?)

I have the same odd feeling in the pit of my stomach that I had just before I decided to get Ptolus... I like the look, and the fluff fits my campaigns nicely.

I think that it would unfortunately be a fools errand to even make an attempt. Edit: Unless Pyramid Magazine was able to expand to a bi-monthly printed publication... but I somehow doubt it.

If the invisible thing is invisible because of a spell (or spell-like) ability, then the invisible thing would likely be detected; however, someone under cover of invisibility would only show up as a faint aura, and the caster detecting would only know the approximate location of an illusion spell.

Either way, that'd be a nice read :D
