    48-point buy

If we are going by the CLASSIC Classic Definition, then they need to complete three steps to be a hero: 1) Make a heroic boast (e.g. I will slay Grendel, find the Holy Grail, kill the 1,000 headed hydra, etc...) and then actually DO it. 2) Undergo a symbolic death and rebirth 3) Redistribute...

Your Favorite RPG Supplement, for any Game, Period

My favorite RPG books, aside from the PHB, DMG, and MM's include: Chaositech Death in Freeport (and the rest of the original trilogy) Freeport: City of Adventure Eberron Campaign Setting d20srd.org (ok, it's not a published product, but it rules) Ptolus: City by the Spire d20 Call of Cthulhu...

Is Ptolus living up to the hype?

Having read both the Ptolus and Sharn books, I can say that the Ptolus book is much more usable at the table than the Sharn book is.
  4. The Lost Muse

    Ptolus Centaur's.

After seeing Chronicles of Narnia, I've had visions of playing a centaur - but the game would have to start off at a sufficiently high level so that I would be about the same ECL as the other players; otherwise it's just not fair.

The popularity of monsters - part II

I don't play much, but I don't believe I've ever used any of those while GM'ing either.

Warlords of the Accordlands (Initial Impressions)

If one desired to use a d20 Combat System that lacks Attacks of Opportunity, I believe that d20 Call of Cthulhu has such a system in it. (My book is elsewhere at the moment.)

    Those Compiled Lists

    Thanks a whole bunch!

    Those Compiled Lists

Around the time of GenCon, someone (I think it was creative mountain games) had excel spreadsheets of all the Wizards of the Coast feats and spells, and now that I decided they'd be good to have, I can't seem to find a link to download them. Does anyone know where they are?

    Sell Hackmaster to me

There's an excellent review here http://www.rpg.net/reviews/archive/12/12222.phtml, although, if you haven't played AD&D, I'd recommend staying away from this one. As well, on RPG.net, you can find the Hack for More column, which details an ongoing campaign.

    What to make Grendel?

I'd say Grendel's immune to damage from normal weapons, so a DR/hand-to-hand might be appropriate (Although it would add a new category)

    Ptolus in Eberron

My original idea was to have the city appear - fully formed, but remain devoid of life until the moons aligned - and then have the population either magically copied or transferred over at that point. For the denizens of Ptolus, there would be a gradual realization that they "aren't in Kansas...

    Ptolus in Eberron

Obviously, the people in the city would be scared out of their minds, and the more powerful NPC's would be trying to fix it. I have been toying with the idea of having Ptolus being fully present in both Eberron and Pramael for a period of time. (I must confess that I need to read the book...

    Ptolus in Eberron

I too, am placing Ptolus in the Mournlands, on the peninsula facing to the east. However, instead of retconning it's presence, at some point the players will witness (or hear about) a spire slowly rising out of the ground. Then the city will slowly appear. But only the buildings. Then, when...

    Questions for Everyone about Eberron.

I like two things about Eberron: 1) The new spin on traditional fantasy races. Undead worshipping elves? Devious gnomes? Dwarves who run the banking system? 2) Unlike, say, the Forgotten Realms, there isn't a vast set of lore to the game, so the learning curve for a GM is reduced somewhat...

    D&D and RPG Play

I play D&D most of the time, but enjoy a variety of d20 games, as well as GURPS.

Have you used someone else's homebrew setting for your games?

I once ran games in the Mythosa setting, but have since switched over to Eberron.
