Do you regret the fact that you don't get to game as much as you would like?

Right now, our Buffy the Vampire Slayer game is starting to wither. We've been playing every ther week for nearly 6 months. Recently, schedules have been screwing it up. It's th eONLY game I'm in right now!! :( I have several games I want to run. Greyhawk - U1-3, T1-4, A1-4, QDQ1-7 and then...

    do clerics work as tanks?

Back when I ran OD&D (basic, expert sets), one player ALWAYS made a tank cleric. Somehow, he seemed to outlast the fighters. His plan was to buff up on defensive items while the fighters fought over the weapons. He couldn't drop foes as quickly, but he was always the last standing - a good thing...

Any of WotC's 'Original Adventures' good?

Agreed. I ran my 3 daughters and SO through this at Christmas 2004.My daughters (14,13,10) had never played D&D or had any desire to play D&D. My SO convinced them to do it for something to do one night. All three of them now have their own PH. When I took them home after our two weeks together...

    Flashing Lights

I don't know if it has been updated to 3e, but FR16 Shining South (2e version) has a spell called cyclical light. A variation of it should do the trick nicely.

"Roleplayed" - My new Short Film! Weeeee!

I agree. What was the point in this? The only reason I sat through all of it is I was "told" to watch it.

Is The Temple of Elemental Evil a well-designed adventure module?

One thing to consider is the age of the adenture (and most of them in this series of threads actually). ToEE is over 20 years old. Well-designed has something of a different meaning now than it did 20 years ago due to the evolution of RPGs in general. Twenty years ago, this was one of the best...

    Monster Manual V

There you go. I'm all for that, too. WotC Has so much they can update without having to create new stuff by doing this. I think this is why Necromancer Games' Tome of Horrors is my favorite monster book.

    Getting better at playing D&D

That pretty much sums it up. Congrats on level 6.

Is The Orc and The Pie a well-designed adventure module?

Is this why orcs are evil now? The only issue I had with this module was my character didn't eat pie. He was strictly a carnivore. I can't believe my DM (or the writer) didn't take this into account. How hard would it have been to replace the pie with a chicken leg? I haven't spoken to the...

Don't use match.com for online dating. They mislead and lie.

Nope! If she BEGS, that's another story.....

Should a NPC cleric heal himself?

Hell, why not have the BBEG commit suicide for them.

Don't use match.com for online dating. They mislead and lie.

Perhaps you should meet people the old fashioned way. The four best places to meet members of the oppostie sex (or so I've heard) are bars, churches, grocery stores, and laundry mats.

    The AD&D 1st Edition bard class ...

It could have been from the D&D Companion set. Depending upon his alignment, a ninth-level fighter could opt to be a paladin, knight, or an avenger. Another note on hte 1e bard is hit points! After the fighter level hit ponits, and the possible few from thief, they got an additional 10d6 over...

    A 1 and a 20

    1 in 200 is right. 1st die roll: 1 in 10 of getting a 1 or 20 2nd die roll: 1 in 20 of getting the other one. equals : 1 in 200

    The AD&D 1st Edition bard class ...

Back in my days of 1e, I witnessed ONE person ever actually achieve a bard. Fingoliath (Fingolianna after a trip through the Tomb Of Horrors) was one bad ass character.I've thought about re-creating the 1e bard as a prestige class; but as usual, laziness and procrastination set in before I did it.

    Making fun of D&D

I prefer Blood Bowl. At least, I can kill opponents in it.
