Pathfinder 1E Paizo Announces More Details about Minis Line

CLumsy players beat hand painted minis all the time. Whoops! Crash! Weeps!

Ever had a demon/devil/god show up by its name being spoken?

The rule at my table was - if the name Hastur is spoken three times there is a 10% chance he arrives. Even though one player would do this occasionally I never rolled low enough to have it happen.

House Rules in the Character Builder

Wow - I couldn't care less about the 'poor chump' who runs the DDI online stuff. If his job is too hard for him - boo hoo. Not my problem. Get the online builder to be equal to the offline one we had I'll resubscribe. Until then - no money for WotC.

    Worst game I ever ran.

Yup - major no-no for most any situation. If the PCs didn't talk to the npc would they have never found the city? Seems unlikely as they were there, in the desert, to find the crystal. Seems to me they would start searching the entire desert and would, eventually, find it. Should they have...

How do I make tiny animated dolls super creepy?

Giggling. Lots and lots of giggling.

Evil Campaigns: How do you feel about them?

But (using your analogy) you are wanting to destroy all mushrooms everywhere so even the mushroom-loving population can't have any. I do find it funny you seem to think the newer versions of D&D have alignment 'hard wired' into it (or baked - I think pizza is my new favourite analogy medium :D...

Evil Campaigns: How do you feel about them?

Then why play D&D? There are tons of fantasy games out there that don't use any kind of alignment system (or have ones so broad as to be easily ignored). I see this comment in pretty every discussion about alignment though so I guess it is a requirement or something.

Evil Campaigns: How do you feel about them?

To me this goes hand in hand with things like 'good' vampires (sparkly or otherwise) or demons. Somethings are just evil no matter how you spin them. I play & run D&D to be/see HEROES doing heroic things. Save the world. Rescue the princess. Found a kingdom out of chaos. I have only had a...

I think that's the one. Use acaeum.com for your D&D history needs. Wonderful site.

    Fantasy Book suggestions

I will recommend Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn trilogy. It might be a little long (each book is around 500 pages) but Sanderson's prose and characters are wonderful. His taking over the Wheel of Time series after Jordan's death is the only reason i would even consider reading it now (I dropped...

Where are you buying Mordenkainen's Magnificient Emporium?

:erm:...what? Has WotC limited this book to brick & mortar stores only? That is a very unusual move for them. I'm quite confused by what you mean here though - you won't support WotC but you'll buy the book online? You seem to want it available in a game shop close to you (or wish there...

Wotc online monster builder can build monsters from scratch.

*lovingly pats his offline MB even though he can't really touch it* I would say I'm surprised but...no I am totally not surprised. It does show why I dropped my sub last Feb and will likely never have the horrors of a DDI sub again.

    I don't want 5E, I want a definitive D&D (the Monopoly model)

I'm curious how you reconcile this; with this; If we are all playing the same game with such minor differences haven't we reached your 'eternal edition' already? And one thing - you are wrong that 3.5E was the 'edition most of us liked and accepted'. A lot of players were leaving 3.5E by...

    How Amazon keeps costs low...

In the article the wages are "up to" 12.25 an hour. I would bet 1000 times that that less than 1% of new hires come anywhere near $12.25/hour. Minimum wage across the USA averages approximately $7.50/hour with a low of 5.15 (Georgia & Wyoming) and a high of 8.67/hour (Washington). Some states...

How fast do your PCs level up?

As a side question - do people find the initial levels (1->2->3) go by very much faster than later ones? I am already tempted to level the PCs in my PF game next session even though it is only our second one just to get them out of the 1st level death zone. I tend to be pretty hard on 1st...

How fast do your PCs level up?

I have seen games where people level very fast, imo. Level 14-15 (in 2E) after 6-9 months was pretty typical for some groups in my University days. Usually such groups played 2-3 times a week for 4+ hours each time. We'd usually accomplish it just by doing a lot of stuff really fast - combats...

How to leave a group. Read before posting.

Pretty much what I was going to post. One other question - do you have any friends your own age that might be interested in D&D? Have you asked them?
