    Paladins - likes and dislikes?

I played one for 6 years in AD&D2e, so I do not have any experience with 3.x paladins. But I really liked my pally as long as I was playing him. For the DM I was the one he could throw his moral dillemmas (grrrr) at. I probably served as a helpless plot giver and for the party more than once...

And now a taste of things to come....

With the new campaign that started end last year we have opened a blog on wordpress.com. Every session someone in the group will write a journal of the game session as we go and will then put it to the blog a day or two later. We also take pics with a digi cam of interesting events or if we have...

    2e.... more flavor than 3e?

I remember reading some of those 2e books even when I did not have to to prepare a game or to read something to get info for a PC. That was mainly because they were well written, had interesting little things that were good to know and alot of non-rule content in them (fluff, as most of you call...

That Balor mini is gorgeous! What's your favourite?

Its hard to get D&D minis around here and the only ones I ever bought were from the first series (forgot the name) about two years ago or so from Amazon Germany. But the quality was so horrible that I stopped thinking about buying more the moment I saw the first mini in that box. So, my...

Older games you'd love to see an update for.

My top 10 list of games that should be updated: Paradroid '90 (what an addicting game that was) Rainbow Islands (and please hire Chris Hülsbeck for the track) X-Out or Xenon2 Megablast (heck those were darn hard games) Turrican (there was talk bout a console port some years ago but it never saw...

"What do you mean I can't...?"

I think we never heard a "can't do" in our game sessions (2e) when it comes to performing special combat moves. Well, we had it once or twice for things like " I try to jump up 4 meters, turn around in mid-air, decapitate the orc and when I touch the ground again I roll to the right and kill the...

How many 3.5e D&D Wotc products do you own?

Heh, thanks for this statistical salto mortale :D but it has some serious flaws. First, you list all adventures in the 2e part, I don think that those can be seen as actual rules books. The number of released adventures in 2e is quite big compared to the one in 3.5. That alone would shrink...

How many 3.5e D&D Wotc products do you own?

Hehe, yeah it's somehow funny how people sometimes still lament that 2e had too many books and rules when you look at the amount of books and rules we have now with 3.5 :)

Battlegrounds: RPG Edition (virtual tabletop software)

Nice work as far as I can see. Say, is there a possibility to have the map window full screen on the client side? I plan to display the client map on a projector while having the DM client with all tool on the notebook monitor. Another feature I did not see is if I have the possibility to hand...

    Is WotC innovative?

*g* nice twist on my post. But I did not want to indicate that WotC should trade their level of quality with innovations. As a gamer I, naturally, would expect to get innovation AND the highest possible quality. We gamers are like that...always expecting the impossible ;)

    Is WotC innovative?

If I would be a creative head honcho at WotC this sentence, if it would be the general opinion about my company, would give me quite a bit of a headache. It's like "We do good work whith a high standard of quality....but we do not do the cool stuff that gets people really excited." I know...

    Gaming in an open enviroment

I do not consider the lack of a "main plot" in a game world / campaign as a negative thing. Well there is always a main plot if I think about it: If we talk about a "No Plan" world then the only main plot is the one where the players are currently playing in and it doesn not really matter how...

    Gaming in an open enviroment

I do not think that BG2 is a good example, like about every CRPG is not a good example for the term "open-ended". Perhaps Daggerfall is, but thats some years ago and pretty unique. BG2 is not open-ended at all, its not even open-play anywhere, also mainly because of that small thing you called...

    Is WotC innovative?

Like "nothing to see here" I think that WotC did make that true innovative step back when they made OGL/D20. I think with that step they also removed the pressure from themselves to have to produce those shiny, shaking new ideas that now others are doing and selling. I think those truly...

    New Wizards Catalogue is out!

Thanks! I thought some of them were novels so I didnt pay close attention. I am not really interested in the Fantastic Location products though. To me they look more like throw-in places for a running campaign or for one-shot sessions.

Looking for a Well Developed City Setting

The Living Greyhawk Journal #2 covers the Free City of Greyhawk. It also has big map of the city. I think you can still get that one in the Paizo store. Castle Zagyg:Yggsburg covers the whole town of Yggsburg and its environs. Very detailed with lots of NPCs and personalities. There are also...

    New Wizards Catalogue is out!

Are there any known release dates for adventures? I thought I read somewhere in the past that WotC plans start releasing adventures again, or am I mistaken there?
