Andy Collins - Incarnum Support in Dragon Magic

But it doesn't hurt anything, either. There's nothing wrong with having more options--nobody's saying that a particular DM must allow every option from every sourcebook, and I know of no DM that does. As with anything gaming-related, use what you like and ignore the rest.

Andy Collins - Incarnum Support in Dragon Magic

I still don't know what to do with incarnum. I like the concept, but I don't see how I could integrate it into my current campaign without polluting the thematic I'm going for. I'm all over this book if I ever get to run an Indian/southeast Asian campaign, though!

    High Level Play with D&D

Agree here, and can't stress it enough. Players of mid- and high-level characters need to not be lazy and do research so they'll know exactly what their characters are capable of. This means reading and re-reading combat rules, spell rules, spells, feats, skills, and synergies of these factors...

    Insect Shifters

IMC some shifters who are allied with the Children of Winter druidic sect actually shift into insectoid forms. It's entirely thematic, though--the underlying mechanics are the same.

    What alignment is Baltar?

I think Baltar is neutral evil, with that caveat that he is a complete coward and apt to do all sorts of decent-seeming things to keep himself out of trouble. But if he could get away with it scot-free, he'd do anything he could. I think NE fits best because it represents the most selfish...

    Stirges.. Most broken monster ever.

Sure, but there is no way a bunch of stirges could stealth-suck a dragon. With its senses, a dragon would notice them coming long before they got close to draining Con.

    Stirges.. Most broken monster ever.

Guess that makes me mean. At 2nd level, the warlock alone had three or four on him. Technically, there were hundreds of stirges in that chamber. They were probably attacked by 18 or so. Of course, they had every opportunity to avoid that encounter, so I don't feel bad. Man, stirges are fun...

The Cask of Winter -4 July-

”Louis!” roared Rurik. Choking up his grip on the single-edged Vangal greataxe, Rurik charged the brutish thing that towered over the cowering bard. He felt a thrill of fear lance up his spine as the creature yodeled savagely, but rage pushed him forward into the fray before he realized just how...

Is it just me, or is this critter begging to have a swarm version? :]

What to do to aviod grappling...

Freedom of movement should be in every cleric's arsenal, and they should be prepared to cast it before going into a potentially bad situation. On the other hand, if you get jumped unexpectedly, you're pretty much screwed unless you happen to have the spell already cast, the improved grab...

    Gathering the MM4 Monster List

I really enjoyed the MMIII and I adore the DMGII stat block format. But I'm not sure that I will buy a MMIV with only 100 monsters, 25 of which are variants of humanoid dragons that I'll probably never use. :\

    A PC who wont kill

It matters if the character's behavior annoys the other players, instead of the other characters. In-character annoyance is fine and can be a lot of fun for everyone; out-of-character annoyance can lead to problems.

    A PC who wont kill

Wow. Here's hoping that this statement is simply hyperbole run amok. :\ To the OP, the closest I got was playing a Vow of Poverty monk who would not kill anything except utterly irredeemable creatures such as demons and undead. The first time my monk knocked a goblin out cold, the party rogue...

The biggest (and coolest) miniature ever!!!

The problem for me with regard to a "mini" like this is that I could expect to use it, at best, once or twice in a campaign spanning years. So it's more of a show piece. I just can't drop that sort of money on a fig I'm not going to use, especially when I found a decent-looking plastic dragon...

The Fine Art of Quitting a Bad Game

We're going to have to agree to disagree, then. Paying money to play in someone's game fundamentally alters the gaming relationship from an informal, friendly environment of leisurely enjoyment to a more formal business relationship where each side has financial expectations of the...

The Fine Art of Quitting a Bad Game

I do. DMs aren't held to a professional standard, and as we all know, talent, taste and maturity vary wildly from DM to DM. If there was a Dungeon Master's Guild, sponsored by the RPGA with a certification process and credentials whose members were annually recertified as meeting the highest...

It's happening again!: DTRRPG.com is selling WotC books!

It's a lot easier to protect physical books from harm. Besdies, I'm no computer guru. Something always seems to be wrong with my PC. It would make me nervous having everything on my hard drive.
