    Wizard Feature: Staff of Defense

Hello, For my human Wizard I chose Staff of Defense for my Arcane Implement Mastery. Does the once per encounter (immediate interrupt) bonus to defense against one attack equal to my Con modifier help protect me from any attack? Even attacks that target my Will defense? Thanks.

Good names for taverns/inns and other city businesses

The DMG II (v.3.5) was a great resource for this.

    Sleeping in armor?

I'm curious - if it isn't important to know if a character has his armor on at a specific time, why do the rules tell us it takes 5 minutes to put on armor?

    H1: Keep on the Shadowfell

Thanks for the replies. I was hoping to avoid any encounter math and time spend building them. But anyway, I'll read my DMG more closely and see about modifying the module to accommodate six players.

    H1: Keep on the Shadowfell

Hello, If I am understanding everything correctly, H1's encounters (including XP and treasure rewards) were built assuming a party of 5 characters. My group includes 6 players/characters. Do I need to modify anything? Do I need to add treasure or modify any encounters? Will the standard of 9...

    Why won't you switch?

I game with about 6 guys regularly. I know dozens of other gamers in my area. I can say for a fact that NONE of them think playing a half-dragon PC is a good idea. And thank God for that.

D&D 4E Going/Not Going to 4E which edition did you start with?

I started in 1979 with Original Dungeons & Dragons (the blue book). I was 8 years old and had no clue what I was doing. My pal's older brother had the books and we'd sneak off with them and figure everything out as best we could. I have played every edition/version of D&D since then - even...

    Why won't you switch?

Because Advanced Dungeons & Dragons is still a kick ass game. cheers

    What's your game plan?

Haha, HarnMaster 3 and HarnMaster Gold are freakin' amazing games. Gold can be quite cumbersome. I can never find player to start a campaign, but I have all HarnMaster products. The maps are a thing of beauty and they're the most useful game maps ever. The one time I did get a few guys together...

    What's your game plan?

Man - me too. I have Aces & Eights and I think it is an awesome game. I'm just not that interested in a western campaign. However, if Kenzer applies the same game design to HackMaster 5th, I'll be a happy gamer.

    What's your game plan?

Definitely lost the vibe - I agree completely. I too have played more 2nd than any other edition. I am looking forward to OSRIC 2 and HackMaster 5th. I'll most likely keep playing original AD&D, but those releases have me interested. Happy gaming Steely.

    What's your game plan?

I like First and Second and I'm equally happy playing either edition. I like to play by-the-book, quirkiness and all. Right now I'm getting everything ready for a second edition campaign set in the Realms (Dalelands area) about 10 years after the Time of Troubles. I have nothing against later...

    What's your game plan?

I plan to keep playing AD&D, like always. cheers

Castle & Crusades - who has tried it and not stuck with it?

cperkins: this is simply fantastic! Thanks! This is just what I've been looking for. Do you have plans for an AD&D3 Monster Manual? Thanks again!

    December & Beyond: Previews

Interesting. Will the Core World be a setting fully described? Will there be a setting book with maps? I would really like a setting book that's a generic D&D world that supports all the elements of the core game. Is this their plan?

    H Series and the Realms

Hello fellow gamers, Has anyone heard anything about H1: Keep on the Shadowfell and if it will contain information for placing it within the Forgotten Realms setting? I'm hoping all of the "generic" modules will contain a sidebar or something addressing use of the adventure in the Realms.

    Intelligent Blades

Hello fellow D&Ders, I have created a magical blade for my campaign and I want to make sure I'm running one aspect correctly. The blade has an alignment of Neutral Good. So, if I am reading the rules correctly, characters with Lawful Good, Chaotic Good, or Neutral Good alignment can wield the...
