Why wouldn't the reboot and change everything the author's didn't like? That's what they did for the Forgotten Realms in 4th Ed, for Dragonlance SAGA, and Greyhawk after GREYHAWK WARS. And the fans all universally loved those products and they became the new standards for those settings.
