Average number of players in a group?

I was just looking at that now, and it really is very symmetrical. Wow.

Average number of players in a group?

WotC is building 4E around the concept that most groups have 5 players. How many players does your group have? EDIT: Just players, don't count the DM

    Bloodied

Pretty overwhelmingly favoring "bloodied." I voted "Good" too. A job well done, WotC.

    Piratecat's storyhour reborn! (updated July 4, 2006)

PC, I've been reading your awesome storyhour, and a couple of questions came to me. First off, how much of each session (if any) is improvised? How much time do you spend doing prep (brainstorming, writing the adventure, stating out important NPCs, etc) for each session? And how long has it...

    Rapid Shot/Many Shot

    Thanks guys!

    Rapid Shot/Many Shot

One of my players has a level 7 ranger with 19 Dex (so, ranged attack bonus of +11) with Rapid Shot and Many Shot (from the combat styles). We wanted to double check about the rules for many shot and rapid shot. Can he Rapid Shot a Many Shot if he uses a full-round action?

Adjusting CR for groups of monsters?

The "official" guide for the CR of a group of monsters is that two monsters of the same CR have a total CR of that plus 2. For example, two CR 4 monsters should have a CR 6 together. However, as I am sure many of you are aware, this rule really doesn't work at all. Two human level four clerics...

    Suggestions for character-specific information

How do the other DMs out there give information to only one player, or a small group of players? Do you just tell the information to the whole group and be confident in the fact that the other players (whose characters are not supposed to know the info) act as if they did not know? What about if...

    Flying

How the hell do you run full-out flying encounters? I've done encounters with flyers before, but largely with monsters flying while the PCs try to take them out with ranged weapons. Now I'm getting to the point where the PCs have access to flight, and one of them is a half-celestial (with a nice...

Now Wizards HAS gone too far!!

They're clearly trying to do SOMETHING to make the d12 look useful...the only thing that's less useful is a d13!

D&D 4E The internet: 4E can't have it both ways

Ummm...you DO realize that your survey is studying a VERY biased population, given the question, right?

    Dragon's Tail Cut?

I'm going with saying neither Wallop nor Dragon's Tail Cut as any good. No offense, but c',mon, if you actually call it that you'll end up with every single DM who isn't running an asian-style setting changing the name to something more universal while remaining descriptive. Slightly altering...

    Interstitial Magic

I'm guessing from the lack of responses to my previous post that those terms aren't suitable, but it would be nice if somebody would confirm or deny this rather than just glossing over it...I don't know whether I should be suggesting more things, similar things, or totally different things if I...

No fair. Put them away unless you brought enough for all the members of the forums mister.

    Villain Escape Plans

I've always liked using Gaseous Form and then slipping through the cracks in the walls to a secret passageway that cannot be reached except by digging through 10-15 feet of stone. It's good stuff, and it drives the players crazy :P

    Island concept

Maybe some dire crows or something too. You could try to make a variant of the undead crow swarms from the Sabriel series...it's geared towards middle-schoolers to low-level highschoolers, but it has some neat inspirations concerning necromancy.
