Hey @Morrus, did you happen to think about this? Even just a guideline could be useful

WOIN Leadership Skill vs Leadership Exploit vs Organization REP

In some OLD careers you can gain the leadership skill. No specific use is given as example, but we can all guess how it can be used. There's also a Leadership Exploit, which, differently from the Leadership skill, allows you to donate your LUCK dice pool to another character as a reaction...

WOIN Severe Conditions definition discrepancy between NEW, NOW, and WRRD

Ok, thanks for the clarifications. I do have all EONS issues, but don't remember all possible contributions (I wouldn't use all of them in any case). It's nice to see some of those included in the WRRD for ease of reference, this makes them somewhat "official" in a sense even if they're not part...

WOIN Severe Conditions definition discrepancy between NEW, NOW, and WRRD

Ok, but what about spending LUCK to increase the severity of a condition, for instance? Is that small enough to pass as an Errata in OLD (a single bullet point in the use of luck paragraph)? I'm not sure I'm following: if WRRD is the "correct" version (or at least the most up to date), and it...

WOIN Severe Conditions definition discrepancy between NEW, NOW, and WRRD

Interesting find. The WRRD has the extreme conditions which do not appear in either OLD or NEW 1.2 rulebooks, that's a big change. I also looked at NOW 1.2: if you go to pages 174-176, you see that there are two entries on each condition (one for the normal and the other for the severe...

Level Up (A5E) Convince me of A5E

LU is a drop in replacement for 5E, you don't need any core 5e books to run a game. There may be things you like more in 5E, maybe a particular subclass, but normally A5E material is more interesting and versatile Same thing here ;)

Level Up (A5E) Convince me of A5E

On top of that, there can be synergies with equipment: a "crit" build is of course enhanced by using a vicious weapon, that has a lower crit range to begin with, and is not a magic weapon there are weapons with a "parry" properties and others with the "defensive" property. Each can be a source...

Level Up (A5E) Convince me of A5E

Ok, so your path and mine are very similar indeed: I also played 2E for a very long time, than switched to 3.X and stayed there for a long while. I loved it, but eventually the bloat became way too laborious to handle, and fights could drag on for hours. I skipped 4E entirely, then started 5E...

Level Up (A5E) Convince me of A5E

Instead of trying to convice you about A5E I'd first ask you why you're interesting in changing from 3.5 if it has worked so well for you so far: what are you looking for?

Level Up (A5E) Basic Maneuver Saving Throw Question

I think in general WOIN handles these aspects of the game much better (I really hope that with today's closure of the starter set pack we'll see a ... kickstart and resurgence of WOIN). There is only a mechanic, which is of "hit" type regardless of the attack or spell. Conditions are not...

Level Up (A5E) Basic Maneuver Saving Throw Question

Definitely so. Being hidden allows you to cast a firebolt with advantage (a "hit" type spell), but has no effect on searing flame (a "save" type spell). Same for being blessed.

WotBS A wholly unofficial thing I'm tinkering with called Streets of Ragesia

This is so interesting! Given my love for WoTBS I'll definitely give a look to those rules! Most likely I won't be able to do any actual playtest anytime soon, but I'll be happy to provide you with feedback on RAW

Level Up (A5E) Basic Maneuver Saving Throw Question

I've always been a bit bugged by the asymmetry introduced by having both "save" mechanics and "hit" mechanics. I don't really like "save" mechanics, particularly when they are save or nothing. It's true that to some extent it's just a p.o.v. flipping where instead of one character rolling...

    Level Up (A5E) A5E Contingency

Regarding 4, I think there's a gray area involving the ability to see (or at least perceive) the target or triggering action. In the example of the spell, blur is cast when the wizard sees the attacker. This condition however is not explicitly required in the spell's description, so in principle...

Level Up (A5E) sorcerers evolving manifestation: fire

I agree, it should be at most a bonus action to cast the secondary flame given the low damage. In general though I find it deeply unsatisfying that many level 1 spells get outclassed by cantrips.

Homebrew First inklings of a new class (or classes)

I have plenty of other ideas to spice up significantly the magic system. I wrote some ideas in a previous post. If you'd like to chat about that, or eventually to collaborate, I'm in

Homebrew First inklings of a new class (or classes)

I've been saying this countless times. Elements of Magic is a fantastic idea, and has a brilliant synergy in WOIN. D&D should really do something to improve on the now ancient vancian magic system. I hoped LU would try to include EoM as an option, given ENP have the rights for both.

Level Up (A5E) Percussion and String Art Specialties Need Help

I think what the system is trying to do is to give you an option that can have a different and sitiuational mechanical benefit. Your bard is mostly a dancer? You'll probably have "visual" as art specialty most of the time, but if you really want to maximise the effect of your Freedom of movement...
