If such a game would come into way, it would most likely the the biggest game ever made. Think of how many NPCs, weapons, items, armor, spells, etc would be in the game. It would also need a compelling story and lots of interesting characters.
You would start out in a regular D&D setting (FR, Eberron, etc) and go on epic adventures across the world, then you would later time travel into the future in Gamma World and do even more stuff. It's kinda like the game Chrono Trigger and a campaign like that would seem pretty grand IMO. Just...
I think both RPGs look very amazing, but which one do you think is better is your opinion? I like D&D for maximalizing the fantasy genre and I like Rifts for its virtually limitless variety in setting.
Has anyone played it yet? It looks pretty interesting and has quite a strong influence on D&D. Wonder how successful this game will be, though I doubt it'll be a "WoW killer".
Hope the character creation in Neverwinter will be just as flexible as Neverwinter Nights. Last I heard you can just select one out of five classes. If that's true, it's lame really.
A new GW game, huh? Sure is news to me. Is it a new major game or will it be part of the Specialist Games?
I guess so, it would be pretty unique as a D&D game.
Btw, has anyone ever done a campaign that has a Conan-esque feel and there are different sexy girls (like from Frank Frazetta's and Boris Vallejo's art) involved?
No, that would be just pointless. It would be much better if it was its own universe, just like D&D and MTG. While D&D is a roleplaying game and MTG is a trading card game, Chainmail would be a miniature wargame, simple as that. A newly invented version of Chainmail wouldn't be a set of rules...
I hope this game has great length and enemy variety. It would be nice to include other races/classes, like Eladrin cleric, Gnome ranger, Tiefling warlock, and Dragonborn swordmage.
Btw, is it possible to mix 3.5 and 4e rules with a game like this?
Meh, Wizards has its own board game anyway, though it's not fantasy themed.
But the point is, this would be a game that follows Warhammer's style of play. This would be WoTC's first attempt at making a full fledged miniature wargame.
Then this game wouldn't be for you. It wouldn't be some collectible miniatures game like Heroclix, this would be an actual wargame. Like I said, it would be like Warhammer, Battletech, and Heavy Gear, which all require miniatures to be painted.
