Any Traveller RPG (Mongoose version) fans here?

I'm a big fan of Traveller in general. I like all editions and timelines of the period. I even enjoy the variants with the exception to T20. While I have it, it appealed to me the least; however, I'll play if it a group wants to do it.

Non-D&D Fantasy Games - the best and why?

I like: 1. HARP / Rolemaster - maybe crunchy but fun! 2. Runequest I, II, and Legend - really like this system 3. Warhammer 1e and 2e - as another poster said, this is a game where you start out thinking you're playing D&D, but it turns out to be Call of Cthulhu. The other aspect is that every...

Time between level-ups: always the same or increasing?

I prefer a steady rate because I want my campaigns to go from 1st to 20th level in about 2 - 3 years based on our game habits.

    Midgard Atlas for iPad‏

Something far better than that. All that is just point and click, get a map and zoom in on it. If the map wasn't created with vectors, then the resolution becomes terrible. What I propose kind of the same premise, but it will work more like Google maps than Google Earth.

    Midgard Atlas for iPad‏

What will be cool is when someone creates a fully interactive continent or kingdom. Want to see the world as a whole? Check. Zoom into the campaign setting itself? Check. Zoom into a city, village, or town? Check. Zoom into various locales such as dungeons, druid groves, ruins, etc.? Check. Want...

Monte Cook's Numenera Approaches Half Million Dollars

I agree with you on this. I thought all his 3.x stuff was awesome and a half and would have loved to see his line go into Pathfinder. Numeria doesn't hold any interest for me though, but wish him well on his endeavor.

Making tabletop RPGs easier and quicker to play...

For new players who don't play rpgs - the app needs to have a "functional" character sheet in about 10 - 15 minutes which is about the time for character creation through most video games. There needs to be several modes that determines the speed of character creation. I don't play WW games, so...

What Does Your Favorite RPG Do Best?

I'm going to skip the Pathfinder, D&D, etc. games because everyone knows or plays those. I would say Hero System. It's an awesome toolkit in which you can build your campaign from scratch, choose how complex you want the mechanics to be, and then start from there. It's kind of an investment of...

    Tell me about Ravenloft

I really loved reading the novels and the setting. My only time playing in it though was an absolute terrible experience by an idiot DM who cut and run on us in the middle of a convention game. I did however play Ravenloft (the module) that a DM converted to 3.0, but he didn't use any of the...

    The More Things Change

I never had a problem with the iconics. I never used them in my games and I always played campaigns where whatever they did in their stories never impacted the games I ran. It's not like the campaign settings were written that the DM should use them as Mary Sue's to rescue the player characters...

    Why do you GM?

I DM because I love it. I enjoy spending hours reading, writing and prepping for the best game of the session. Playing is fun, but DMing is awesome.
