I am an experienced gamer looking for either a 5th edtion or Pathfinder ongoing game.

I thought about playing a multiclass Ranger/Rogue. For one reason my Rogue is tied to the ranger through the Flaming Fist. The one shot is a prequel to the main campaign. Our DM told us to create one with a tie to our main character.

I hope the rogue is fun to play. I tied his background in with both Bregan D'aerthe and the Flaming Fist.

Really have not thought much about the character other than the game mechanics. This is just for a one shot. I have put a lot of thought into my rogue character because I will probably be playing him for a year or so. We will be playing The Descent into Avernus campaign.

Tell you what. When I roll my character for the campaign I will be playing in ( my rogue ) I will post my stats no matter how they turn out. :)

The math has changed a bit now though with 15 being the highest stat you can buy with point buy. You were able to buy an 18 if you wanted one, at some cost to your other stats but it was possible.

I have always found that rolling is better than point buy. But it is a chance. You could always roll a bunch of ones and twos. But this character is just for a one shot. My character for the campaign is a rogue.

Yes. Hunters Mark is good and can be applied after the first round. The Deadly Ambusher feature only applies to the first round of combat. I figure after that you use hunters mark on the next opponent and the second round with the next opponent you go back to two weapon fighting. And Yes I...
