Game Balance: what does it mean to you?

I see a lot of threads that talk about game balance. What does game balance mean to you? Do you feel the need to have fixed hit points because you want everything fair? Are you afraid of rolling a 1? Do you want to use a point buy system because it is more fair and consistent than rolling...

Can undead be placed in Temporal Stasis?

Well, maybe in 4th edition they will have rules for time effecting pies. I'm sure they will compensate with Rary's born-on-date sealing spell. :D :p

    WOOT!!! It's on it's way.

I really don't care for PDFs either, except as mentioned above. Boo, I got all excited because it was coming in the mail and I still did not get it yet. :uhoh: :o :( I'm sure it is coming, but I feel like a little boy around Christmas. Well, I guess that is a good thing :D :p

What do you want to see in a new magazine?

Okay, I think all the problems with the newsletter subscription have been worked out. We manually placed everyone on the list. I also sent out the first newsletter. You might not have gotten a confirmation e-mail, but you should have the newsletter. Let me know if this did not come.

Okay, I think we have it, did you get something now?

Can undead be placed in Temporal Stasis?

Okay, but is it because undead aren't considered creatures or because they are considered objects or something different?

Can undead be placed in Temporal Stasis?

Can you place an undead in temporal Stasis? A creature without a con score, like undead and golems, can only be effected by spells that also effect objects so I would say no. What say you?

    OGL What is to happen?

Okay, I guess I can take the word of the D&D brand manager. I was just confused by the way what I read was worded. :) ;) So, you want to give a company the right to use the d20 logo after they prove themselves but in order to prove themselves they have to write for d20 without the...

    OGL What is to happen?

That is a well thought out argument. As I stated, I didn't see anything in the thread posted above stating the mentioned OGL, but I didn't check it all out. There will be an OGL and SRD released for 4e, so people could publish material compatible with and building on it. This was stated by...

    OGL What is to happen?

I thank you for the link, however I am at work and can't take the time to read 7 pages of threads. I did read some though, and from what I can tell on the first page, it is mainly people begging to have an OGL, not really an official WOTC rep saying, "Dont' worry boys, nothing will change."...

    OGL What is to happen?

This is why I am concerned. To me this means that publishers have to get a licenses to print 4th edition materials, fans have to print on Gleemax and their materials can be pillaged by WOTC at will and the current state of the OGL/SRD/d20 is up in the air. I might be reading too much into it...

    OGL What is to happen?

Alright, if I understand correctly, they will still have a 3.5 OGL as is from what I can tell. I get confused about what is to happen regarding 4th edition though. It looks like publishers can get a limited OGL for creating 4th edition material, from what I can tell. It looks to me that if...

What do you want to see in a new magazine?

I feared having to tell people that the magazine will mainly, at least at first, be a labor of love and as such the writers would not get paid. I feared most, if not all, would laugh in my face. Actually, it is the quite the opposite. I got a lot of great feed back from writers who want to be...

What do you want to see in a new magazine?

That is one thing I always loved about the old Dragon magazines. I didn't play alot of the other games, but the articles were always fun to read, especially the Mavel characters. As a comic book fan, I loved to read the stats. The current staff doesn't play much other than D&D, but I will...

What do you want to see in a new magazine?

We do have a submission process on the web-site. You might not like the fact that everyone who is working on the magazine to bring you solid content and worth reading articles is working free of charge. It is not that we have a problem paying people for their work, it is that we are starting...

What do you want to see in a new magazine?

We formed this magazine to be a printed magazine, period! We know there are some who prefer PDF as much as we love a real magazine, so we will offer that, but most of our focus will be on printed material. Just what do you mean by "Dead" world. A world of undead? A world were magic is dead...

What do you want to see in a new magazine?

I started this thread to see if there were things I didn't think about when designing a magazine. It turns out Finarvyn nailed most of what we are doing. Please take a look at our web-site and I am sure you will agree, The true test comes when we release Issue #0. First though, I have to get...

What do you want to see in a new magazine?

I am quickly learning why the magazine business is hard to get into and hard to keep financially stable. We really don't have a lot of start up capital, so you are touching on something that is really close to home for us. We hope that it comes.

What do you want to see in a new magazine?

There seems to be a slight problem with the news letter sign up. If you have signed up but didn't get an e-mail back confirming your membership to the news letter, please send me an e-mail at c.e.rocco@comcast.net with the subject line reading, "I didn't get it," and I will see what I can do...
