poor rational for "updating" Magic Missile?

It's not errata. It's a rules update, as such, everything is pretty much fair game. Personally, I like the change. But that's besides the point, really. Sure, MM was not "broken," but it was pretty lousy and not much fun (well, in my opinion anyway). Now it's pretty cool.

Sharing DDI Accounts: why isn't this like file sharing?

As a security professional, I'll chime in here. One should never, ever share one's account name and password with anyone. It's a phenomenally bad idea for many reasons. Allowing one to use your computer (supervised) to make up a character using Character builder, on the other hand, fine...

    Dwarven Monk 4 Advice

"Melee Touch" and "Melee 1" both do not benefit from weapon reach. "Melee Weapon" as a range does, though, which means Dancing Cobra (At Will) gets reach but Crane's Wings does not. Open the Gate of Battle (1st level) Dance of Swords(3rd level), and Three Winds Kick (17th level) are the only...

Question regarding wielding weapons (Monk specifically)

Well, not really, it could be used as a weapon (basic attack) or other power(implement) and the club is not defined as to how it is used (weapon or implement) for the Flurry.

Question regarding wielding weapons (Monk specifically)

I would not allow it, and don't think it is allowed by the rules. I believe "Wield" means to have it in hand and be able to actually employ it normally. I don't think you can "wield" a club in your off-hand when you have used a spear, for you cannot both use the spear and be able to use the...

Will Constant Errata Kill the Essential Line?

Well, that's why they are called Rules Updates and not errata.

    What is "an attack"?

Another issue that comes up sometimes is whether applying damage is part of the attack or not. The answer seems to be that sometimes it is, and sometimes its not - it depends upon context. By definition, applying the damage form an attack that has an attack roll is part of the attack but comes...

    Any DDI News?

My expectations have been tempered. I now consider the bulk of what was promised for DDI to be vaporware. I hope to be proved wrong.

    May Rules Update

Oh, please. That is a archetypal red herring, because CLW grants "The target regains hit points as if it had spent a healing surge." Only the TARGET gets HIT POINTS as if it had spent a healing surge. Other effects of spending a healing surge are outside the scope of CLW because they have...

Monks & Weapons & Powers, oh my

No. Melee 1 means a range of 1 square no matter what weapon is used. The Pointed Step Style feat will let you target one opponent up to 2 squares away with a Flurry, though - if you used a spear on the triggering attack.

Monks & Weapons & Powers, oh my

Most of what you are talking about exists (though you might need to add you own flavor text) in existing monk powers.

Monks & Weapons & Powers, oh my

Indeed they do. Many of the powers are Jackie Chan inspired moves. It's just that it matters not what weapon you use to deliver them except for feats, et. al.

Can one PC choose not to take a rest? (Dark Spiral Aura and Rod of Corruption woes.)

Again, this is simply not an issue. He has made a tactical choice of giving up renewing encounter powers and spending healing surges to get more damage with one swing. Let him do it. It's a balanced choice. The price to do it is high enough.

Monks & Weapons & Powers, oh my

While I agree with you, that's not clear to everyone, and thus it is not clear. That's the way clarity works -if a significant number of people don't see it the same way, it is, by definition, not clearly written.

Can one PC choose not to take a rest? (Dark Spiral Aura and Rod of Corruption woes.)

It's pretty darn hard to abuse as the price for not taking rests is rather high - no encounter powers and no use of healing surges to heal up (the latter might have work-round, but not the former).

Can one PC choose not to take a rest? (Dark Spiral Aura and Rod of Corruption woes.)

I think he can do this, but... No short rest = no rejuvenation of encounter powers and no spending of healing surges to heal himself up between encounters. Seems like a fair trade.

    Dex & Cha Class Leader?

Bard can certainly fit the bill - especially with a lot of multi-classing.

You get your round as normal (three actions) There is nothing that would imply the "or" is a logical "exclusive or."

Monks & Weapons & Powers, oh my

Right - you could also get some actual real, tangle benefits form using the unarmed attack if one takes some weapon feats to go with it. I am really hoping WotC clarifies this to be that all four apply.
